This simple and ultralight purifier provides safe drinking water with a minimum of fuss. The SteriPEN uses ultraviolet light to destroy viruses, bacteria and protozoa. There are no chemicals that leave an aftertaste in the water. It's a perfect choice for backpacking, hiking or traveling. Simply press the on/off button and dip the lamp end of the SteriPEN into the water you are treating. The lamp will automatically emit microbe-killing ultraviolet light. Purifies up to 32 oz. of water at a time. UV lamp will last for up to 8,000 treatments or the equivalent of three liters a day for seven years. Uses four AA batteries, not included.

Included pre-filter removes particulates prior to purifying with the SteriPEN Classic. Pre-filter consists of a durable nylon screen in a housing that screws onto wide mouth water bottles. Directions included. Imported.
