The Coleman tent fan is a good idea, but it fell short of my expectations.
I camp about 3 weeks each summer in the Midwest and it can get very hot on those July nights. This fan is nice and well made. I imagine that it would last many years. But there are a few problems.
1. It is heavy, with 4 ?D? batteries in it. That?s okay but to hang it from the ceiling of a tent may be a problem for some lighter tents. It may weigh them down.
2. Hanging the fan in the tent will also place it too far from the person trying to cool off.
3. The stand is not very good for placing the fan next to the person in the tent.
4. It needs more power to move more air volume.
The fan is solid and well made, but the design is not right for my needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tamdemrider Better design than old model
I bought an older model of this fan two years ago to use on Ragbrai. We needed a second one this year to accommodate another tent. The new model is better designed with a fold out stand and smaller profile. Very satisfied with the purchase!

Fan is larger and heavier than past Coleman model. We liked the idea of built in stand, however the base is not large enough to support fan without flopping over. A workaround is attaching the magnet bracket while using the foldout stand. The weight from magnet keeps fan from falling forward. It could easily be too heavy for some tents.
