Rated 5 out of 5áby ElCid80 Terrific Service - Great Fit
Folks don't forget about LL Bean when you are doing your shopping for hunting gear. There are newer names in the market but their dna might not be as rooted in the hunting tradition as LL Bean. The pants came, sized and hemmed in about 4 days after I placed the online order. The fit and feel of the material is outstanding quality. I beleive the comfort waist will serve me well layering and moving with ease during the hunt and after relaxing with my hunting buddies.
My advice - get your gear from LL and you won't be disappointed! Keep these guys in the business of making quality gear. As an aside, I pulled my original (25 + year old) LL Bean hunting boots out to prep them.....still outstanding - still functioning - will probably out last me!

Bullet proof protection in the briars, but easy on your legs as these pants are not stiff or rough. Can't go wrong spending a day in the field in these... And the precision fit waistband is awesome. The only thing these are missing is a nicely stitched L.L. Bean logo on the back pocket. Well done!

I've worn these for a season now and been out about 20 times. Whacking through the briar/rose/blackberry patches or past the bull thistles around here in NW PA is a pretty good test. These pants pass with flying colors and look unchanged. The expandable waist works very well - better than I would have thought. I normally wear 30" waist in LL jeans but had to take a 32 in these (smallest available). Because of the difference, I thought a belt would be difficult, so I got a pair of suspenders (there are buttons already in place).and the pants float very comfortably. Best part is that no matter the weather (hunted with temps around 75 to walking through snow), the adjustable waist meant I could dress for conditions comfortably. The best thing I can say about these pants is that I don't ever think about them (e.g., cursing briar canes cutting through) while hunting because they work.

I loved these pants. Worked great in 40 degree weather in South Dakota. They would be too warm in 50 degree and above weather. The adjustable waste band was great for tucking in extra shirts.

I was hesitant abou this item due to the inseam measurement. I wear a 34 inseam normally and find it to be hit and miss with the length. I ordered this pant with the 33 inseam and they fit great. I am 6'5" and the cuff hits me right at the top of the heel. The material on the front and back calf is very tough and gives you the protection you need when busting through briars to flush a bird. I would recommend this pant for any outdoor use. Like most things from L.L.Bean, you can tell the quality when you feel it. The stitching is well done and looks ready for years of use.

Hunted three days in South Dakota with these pants. Used in heavy cover though no significant briars encountered. These pants brushed off all that was dished out. The precision-fit waistband provided a custom fit since I am between waist sizes. Provided just the right amount of give when bending over to retrieve birds. High quality construction and features. These pants cut the cool wind which leads me to believe they might be a bit hot on a warm day in the field. No regrets!

I bought these for my husband, and he is very happy with them. We'd tried another pair of upland pants from LLBean, and ended up returning them (we think they were miss-sized, they didn't fit at all and they were very thin). He likes a specific fit in the leg, and these work well for him. They're flexible and provide cover from briars and other upland hazards that he comes across. He said they are warm though, so wearing them at the beginning of the season (when/if its still above 60) might be too warm. He hasn't worn them out in those temps to test, but he's very happy & comfortable with them now in that its colder (40s), which makes him think they'd be to hot for earlier in the season. The fabric seems very durable. I'd buy him another pair, but I don't think he'll need it for several seasons.
