Rated 5 out of 5 by DANWMS Briar Patch Pants
This pants are just right for the stickers and briars that I walk though to rabbit hunt in Missouri. They may be a little light weight for multi flora rose, but are good for blackberry and green briar patches. I ordered a size larger to allow for warm under clothes and to get the length that I wanted. These don't need to be a size bigger for the clothes, but fit nicely anyway. With the expansion capability, I should be able to wear them for fat pants on Thanksgiving!

The farm where I hunt is bottomland with lots of privet and briars. When cutting trees or clearing roads and trails, the brush will penetrate and tear jeans and khakis. The material of these pants appears as though it will stand up to this type of abuse. However, the legs of the pants are extremely wide. I could wear a couple of layers of thick fleece and the legs would still be loose. The pants look like women's wide leg pantsuits. I am returning due to poor fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Deerhost Great upland pants
I've been hunting most of my adult live. I am now 50. That's a lot of years in the briar patches. I've worn all kinds of brush pants and never was quit happy with one single pair, some were rugged but were uncomfortable, some were comfortable but thorns would just rip them apart. These upland pants are really the best I've ever used. I have two pair and also the poplan light weight summer pants which are very similar but cooler for summer beagling with my rabbit dogs and late summer tune ups with my birds dogs in the heat. They are light weight, rugged the croch fits well and does not droop a foot bellow down to your knees like most other briar pants I tried. They fit well around the waist but still roomy around your legs with out being baggy. The adjustable tuff elastic waist gives and expands with movement, there is rubberized material on the inside of the waist that grabs your tucked in shirt and keeps it from coming out of your pants. My legs always stay dry and protected from briars. They fit like they are tailored for me. I wear these pants with suspenders and I recommend you try suspenders with these pants, although not a needed they are even more comfortable with them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lyagooshka They work...
I got these right before opening day of Small Game.
We spent half the day out in the field and I remained dry and briar free.
That's what was advertised, that's what it did.
Kind of the way it's supposed to be.
I also appreciated the elastic waist.
In all, they're comfortable, warm, quiet and relatively maintenance free.
Would definitely buy again or recommend to a friend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JBinPA Precision-Fit Upland Briar Pants Review
I recently purchased these brush pants for hunting grouse in Pennsylvania. I am 5' 11'' and weigh 175 lbs.
I typically wear a size 32 waist and 32 inseam. I found the size 32 waist to be slightly loose fitting compared to my relaxed fit jeans. The 31 inseam was much like a 32 inseam of my other pants. The cut of these pants is not "Precision-fit". I found them to be slightly baggy for a lanky individual, but not so much that I'm bothered by it.
I've worn the pants several times this season in typical grouse woods conditions. These pants have done very well. I've only been stuck by a thorn/briar one time that I can recall. I like the coverage that the chap design provides. It would be nice to have the back of the leg be covered as high as the calf with this material, too. The material looks relatively unaffected after hunting several days in briars.
The best thing about these pants is that they are polyester. In the dew, rain, or snow, these pants simply don't make you feel as wet as cotton brush pants. They also don't become heavy like cotton pants. The elastic waistband will likely be helpful when it comes time to add layers for the colder months. One minor change that I'd like to see is side pockets that have a smaller opening to access them. Currently, the pocket openings are big enough that I fear keys, wallet, or a phone falling out of them while stumbling through the woods.
Overall, these are good pants. I'd prefer LL Bean to offer these in a more technical cut. If you don't mind a looser fit, then these are worth considering.

I have a pair of these that I bought quite a few years ago and I love them for my ruffed grouse and woodcock hunting. I know though that eventually they will wear out and I thought that I would buy another pair now to have when that happens.
I bust briars and such with these pants and while they may not protect my legs as much as heavier faced pants they do very well and are much more comfortable to wear. The latter is a much more valuable feature when you are wearing them all day long and for two to three months.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MrLee Great construction but super baggy
I know everybody loves these pants (and they are very well-made) but, notwithstanding their use as a hunting and field pant, they are still exceptionally baggy--just too much fabric. The elastic band is a nice feature, but if you are between sizes (I have a 37" waist) go one down. I got a 38" and they kind of float around at the waist and swim on me. Also, the 31" inseam was too long for my 30.5" inseam. Overall, I felt I could have downsized to a 36"x 29" but the bagginess (even with thermals) is a deal breaker. Sorry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Uplandguy Best brush pants for all around upland hunting
I have a pair of these I have worn for a few years and highly recommend them for all types of bird hunting. The design, fit and finish is great. The sizes are full cut with just the right amount of articulation in the knees. 1000 denier facing is the highest grade I have seen. Double seat, and signature rear flap pockets are the same as what I have on my 1979 origional whipcord pants. I just got a new pair as a birthday gift and they are the same great pants,no corners cut. I also got a pair of the new Technical Brush pants, sorry to say they are terrible. The cut and fit is just strange.
No expandable waistband and very cheap sewn on patch pockets. I have returned them for the much better standard brush pants. The designer should have just added the technical touches to the already best in class brush pants and they would have knocked it out of the park. Still love LL Bean and would love to order the Technical pants if they get back to designers that are upland bird hunters.

Sizing is very good, stitching is excellent. The expandable waist line is very nice and makes them very comfortable.
