Comfortable, true to fit, and the tick cuff is a bonus. My husband likes that he can wear a base layer under them if necessary. Highly recommend.

fits well and comfortable- haven't tried them out in the field to determine if the tic free component is effective

Rated 3 out of 5áby Renty Too heavy, but not heavy enough
I bought these for hunting mountain quail in the high desert. Temps can be a bit warmer here than typical upland hunting, but I decided to bite the bullet and go with heavier pants to repel the Yucca plants that tend to stick me and draw blood. I went with the tick cuff to avoid having to wear gaiters
Unfortunately, these pants weren't heavy enough to repel the yucca plants here. The barbs were able to penetrate straight through the heavier material on occasion, and the heavy material did not come up high enough, resulting in thorns penetrating through the crotch area. They pants also have a "plastic" feel in the lining that makes them uncomfortable to wear above temps in the 50s. They'd probably be more comfortable wearing a light baselayer underneath to wick moisture, but that would make them even hotter.
I also found the tick cuff, while advertised to work well as a gaiter, simply ended up coming up above my boot and didn't work.
On the plus side, these pants come with suspender buttons already attached and deep pockets that hold items well, even when being active in unforgiving terrain. The fabric also looks brand new after a half dozen days in the field.
They didn't work for me, but would probably work well in a cooler environment without Yucca plants. I'd recommend going without the tick cuff though if you plan on using it as a gaiter.

Rated 2 out of 5áby Gurlydirtridin Works well for feild work but could be better...
Pants are awesome for field work, generally preventing ticks from entering the pants!! However?. The elastic waist is SUPER annoying. Older models didn?t have the elastic and were MUCH better (5 star). It stretches allowing shirts to come untucked, not staying up right, and ultimately allowing access for ticks to enter pants. Furthermore, in the heat of the summer they are EXTREMLY hot. Wished they made these pants without elastic and put a tick cuff in a lighter weight pant.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Gepetto Great All-around Small Game Pants
I've put these pants through a full Ohio small-game hunting season, from Oct through to the end of January, in warm weather and in brutal cold, through briars, over barbed wire, and through fields, mostly squirrel and coon hunting with curs.
Here are the features that I regard highly.
Fliexibility. They may be 1000 dernier faced nylon, but you wouldn't know it by either the weight of the pants or the suppleness of the fabric. Not saying they aren't. Just saying I'm skeptical. They are too supple. I have heavy duty chaps of 1000 dernier Cordura from Boatman, cordura bibs from Dan's and cordura pants from Dan's. They are all as stiff as starched canvas compared to the Bean pants. I wouldn't wade through rabbit briars to bust a bunny wearing these, but if you are reasonable picking your way through bad stuff, they'll do. And the nylon facing is high on the legs, too, up around the pockets to afford good protection.
I love the tick cuff. Go south and hunt where ticks and chiggers swarm, and you will value these. I don't feel the need to wear Bug Skinz with these pants.
The expandable waistband. A great feature for layering. And the Winter of 2013-14 required some layering, let me tell you.
Heavy duty sewing on the waist buttons for suspenders. Yup, couple them up with some FIlson suspenders and you have comfort deluxe. The buttons aren't going to tear or break loose anytime soon.
I'm 73 years old, hunt almost as hard as I did as a teenager, and these are the best hard-wearing, all-around small-game pants I've ever owned.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Outdoormale Great for rabbit hunting
Have worn these several times rabbit hunting in heavy briars. They work great! Have had no briars come through them. Fit great. They look like they will last several seasons.
