Comfortable fit and good protection. Like the tick guard sewn into the leg of the pants.

These pants are very good. Fit is perfect, and everything about them is great, EXCEPT in heavy thorns........they punch right through. Light thorns, and most everything else are fine, but this year I am getting torn up........so the next ones will be Gore-Tex. You got it right LL Bean, now just make these pants tougher, and they will be perfect

They fit great as I was able to mix and match waist/inseam sizes.
They keep the thorns at bay, these protect my legs in all the areas that the heavier fabric covers. Small briars still stick to the lighter fabric, but come off fairly easy and the heavy fabric hardly holds them at all.
Haven't had any ticks on me, but not sure if that's the tick cuffs or the bug spray.

I've worn previous iterations of Upland pants. This version is, by far, the best. Fit is very comfortable. The chaps portion stays tight to the pants; no sagging as in previous iterations. Better protection from thorns, barbs, brambles and rough sharp surfaces. Stays cool under warm weather conditions. Note: in a down pour you will get drenched to the skin. Waist stays put; no plumber's crack! I bought first pair at a Bean outlet store. I was able to compare it to previous poplin version of upland pant. I was so impressed that I ordered two more pairs.

This is the second pair of Briar Pants that I own from LL BEAN. I am an avid hunter, so the stretch waist is perfect for layering without feeling cramped on cold days. Additionally, the tic cuff is a real bonus. It fits easily over my boots and prevents unwanted visitors. The pants are wind resistant and are perfect for warmth on windy days. I would purchase again and recommend to any outdoorsmen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wildwinghunter tough tough hunting pants
I purchased the old style pants without the tick cuffs as we do not have a big problem in the southwest. I have worn these pants for 5 yrs now and show NO wear. Hunt upland birds 30+ day a season in Oklahoma and Kansas. They are very comfortable and keep you dry in damp grass and weather. Can get a little warm in temp. above 70 degrees.
I added zippers to the knees; easy to get on and off. This is the only thing missing from the BEST hunting pants you'll ever buy.
LL Beam should add the zippers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NickZ Iron Pants that work
Haven't found thorns that can breach these pants, they are really tough and like armor for your legs. The expanding waist is great especially when you add a heavier shirt and/or long johns. Overall fabric (not the facing fabric) is soft and moves with you. No fashion statement but the birds don't notice.

I am an upland guide, and love these pants. They are dry, repel briars and thorns, and have a FANTASTIC TICK CUFF. I live in a county that has the highest incidence of Lime disease in the nation, and having this cuff is just an added degree of protection. I have never seen a tick on my legs since I have been using these pants. They fit very true to size, and are comfortable to wear all day long. Another great job by LL Bean for the upland hunter...............Keep the great products coming for the upland bird hunter.

Comfortable, true to fit, and the tick cuff is a bonus. My husband likes that he can wear a base layer under them if necessary. Highly recommend.
