Rated 5 out of 5áby wbcc great quality
I bought this recently and wore it in the rain and it kept me dry. This jacket is very well designed and manufactured. I like the 3 generous-sized zipped pockets (a 4th would have been even better). When I walk my dog I have to carry a number of items: dog bags, treats, wallet, keys, cell phone and in cold weather gloves or mitts, hat, and at night a flash light, etc. I like lots of pockets! The adjustable hood, waist, sleeve cuffs are excellent. At 5'9", 160lbs the M is roomy, which is good for layering in cool weather. Small would have been a nicer, trimmer fit but I'm happy with medium. Well done LLBean.

Rated 2 out of 5áby WetBostonian Not waterproof
I got this jacket earlier this year and after less than six months' use the liner is peeling off; the zipper also gets stuck on the placket EVERY time I zip it up. I do like the look, feel, and packability of the jacket and could deal with the zipper and liner issues, except that it is in NO WAY a waterproof rain jacket. I cannot even walk the dog around the block for 20 min in light rain without getting soaked through. A nice windbreaker, but as a raincoat it is certainly an inferior product not worthy of the L.L.Bean name. Should have spent the extra money to get a real (i.e. Goretex) raincoat from the start; planning to upgrade come Xmas.

Rated 1 out of 5 Liner disintegrates
I bought this rainwear several years ago and just got around to returning it for a refund. After very light and occasional wear the coated liner disintegrated in the neck area. I am amazed that LL Bean is still selling this inferior product. Fortunately they have an excellent refund policy so I got most of my money back and will have to spring for a GoreTex version I reckon.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Strommen Great lite weight and packable
I purchased this a little less then a year ago from the new freehold location. Customer service there is phenomenal. Overall I really like this jacket for those rainy windy days. It will keep you dry for the most part but I did notice a wet feeling will seep through after being in a heavy rain. One thing I didn't like was that if you start to swet the jacket sticks to you and becomes quite uncomfortable. But overall still a great rain jacket I use mine in all storm conditions in the northeast.

Rated 3 out of 5áby BertfromBoston Lining needs to be re-examined
This is a great jacket, its light, good color, and when its not damaged, it holds off the rain. The downside is that the lining on the inside can be easy damaged and basically falls off in the jacket piece by piece. It leaves pieces on your clothes and looks terrible. It also compromises the waterproofing of the jacket. I bought 1 and LL Bean was nice enough to replace the first one that this happened with. That one has now had the same issue. I will not buy another one of these until this engineering defect is corrected. Has anyone else had this problem.

Rated 1 out of 5áby hondas Zipper hard to close
I bought this jacket for work. The pocket zippers are hard to close, they get caught on the material, that covers the zipper to make it waterproof. These zippers will be ruined way before the jacket is worn out.

Rated 1 out of 5áby hondas Zippers are terrible
The pocket zippers are terrible. They get caught on the material. I use this jacket at work, and it is maddening when I am in a hurry, and the zippers on the pockets refuse to close, because they are caught on the flap of material. For the money, I expected better.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Benner great for the price
Not much to say about this jacket. The fit is very traditional, i.e., a bit baggy if you're more accustomed to modern tailored fits. The jacket lacks some of the bells and whistles you might expect on a more expensive technical rainshell. But for casual use, it's hard to beat this jacket for the price. This works great as a backup rain jacket or something to leave in your car or backpack on those iffy grey "maybe it will rain, maybe it won't" days.

áby FreeInFlorida Really nice jacket, could use one improvement
In Florida, we don't need warmth in a rain jacket, but we do need something breathable, lightweight and compact. This jacket fits the bill. I bought the XXL Tall model (I am 6'4" and 210lbs.) and it fits comfortably -- I can even wear a backpack underneath it if needed.
The material is soft and smooth, and repels water 100%. The many elastic snugs and zippers on the hood and pockets let you seal up the jacket very well if needed, and the hood drops out of the way when it's not needed.
Stuffing the entire jacket into its own pocket for compact storage is a big plus. Since it may not be readily apparent how to do it, here's how: choose either the left or right outside waist pocket. Turn the pocket inside-out, and stuff the entire rest of the jacket into the now-inverted pocket. It will zip up with the pocket's own zipper.
The one improvement I could recommend would be the addition of a few 3M Scotchlite reflective tape strips on the hood, sleeves, waist and pocket flaps to make the wearer visible at night.
Otherwise, completely satisfied with this jacket and I expect to give it many years of use here and on travels.

Rated 4 out of 5áby GuyWhoWearsCoats Perfect Pockets
I work as a bicycle delivery guy and have the bright yellow jacket. Very high visibility which is great for me, especially during storms. Doesn't breathe all that well so if you sweat (like while making bike deliveries) you will be wet on the inside. Turn the coat inside out and hang it up for a few minutes and it's dry again though. The anchored breast pocket is very useful. Jacket also looks stylish with some jeans or navy chinos. If it had zippers in the armpits #ventilation) it would be the perfect jacket.
