Rated 3 out of 5áby BertfromBoston Lining needs to be re-examined
This is a great jacket, its light, good color, and when its not damaged, it holds off the rain. The downside is that the lining on the inside can be easy damaged and basically falls off in the jacket piece by piece. It leaves pieces on your clothes and looks terrible. It also compromises the waterproofing of the jacket. I bought 1 and LL Bean was nice enough to replace the first one that this happened with. That one has now had the same issue. I will not buy another one of these until this engineering defect is corrected. Has anyone else had this problem.

Rated 1 out of 5áby hondas Zipper hard to close
I bought this jacket for work. The pocket zippers are hard to close, they get caught on the material, that covers the zipper to make it waterproof. These zippers will be ruined way before the jacket is worn out.

Rated 1 out of 5áby hondas Zippers are terrible
The pocket zippers are terrible. They get caught on the material. I use this jacket at work, and it is maddening when I am in a hurry, and the zippers on the pockets refuse to close, because they are caught on the flap of material. For the money, I expected better.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Benner great for the price
Not much to say about this jacket. The fit is very traditional, i.e., a bit baggy if you're more accustomed to modern tailored fits. The jacket lacks some of the bells and whistles you might expect on a more expensive technical rainshell. But for casual use, it's hard to beat this jacket for the price. This works great as a backup rain jacket or something to leave in your car or backpack on those iffy grey "maybe it will rain, maybe it won't" days.

áby FreeInFlorida Really nice jacket, could use one improvement
In Florida, we don't need warmth in a rain jacket, but we do need something breathable, lightweight and compact. This jacket fits the bill. I bought the XXL Tall model (I am 6'4" and 210lbs.) and it fits comfortably -- I can even wear a backpack underneath it if needed.
The material is soft and smooth, and repels water 100%. The many elastic snugs and zippers on the hood and pockets let you seal up the jacket very well if needed, and the hood drops out of the way when it's not needed.
Stuffing the entire jacket into its own pocket for compact storage is a big plus. Since it may not be readily apparent how to do it, here's how: choose either the left or right outside waist pocket. Turn the pocket inside-out, and stuff the entire rest of the jacket into the now-inverted pocket. It will zip up with the pocket's own zipper.
The one improvement I could recommend would be the addition of a few 3M Scotchlite reflective tape strips on the hood, sleeves, waist and pocket flaps to make the wearer visible at night.
Otherwise, completely satisfied with this jacket and I expect to give it many years of use here and on travels.

Rated 4 out of 5áby GuyWhoWearsCoats Perfect Pockets
I work as a bicycle delivery guy and have the bright yellow jacket. Very high visibility which is great for me, especially during storms. Doesn't breathe all that well so if you sweat (like while making bike deliveries) you will be wet on the inside. Turn the coat inside out and hang it up for a few minutes and it's dry again though. The anchored breast pocket is very useful. Jacket also looks stylish with some jeans or navy chinos. If it had zippers in the armpits #ventilation) it would be the perfect jacket.

Yep they are waterproof, run your garden hose over
the sleeve for 5 minutes, nice and dry on the inside.
I bought this hard shell jacket for rainy days while
hiking in the woods as soft shell jackets are NOT
100% waterproof and are not suited for downpours.
I find membrane jackets a little overrated in the breathability
department and your sweat still builds up on the inside
of the jacket and this TEK 2.5 jacket is no different. I tend
to like my rain jackets a little baggie to aid in ventilation so
I bought an XL size which is perfect.
So why buy a membrane rain jacket over PVC ?
Because membrane rain jackets are lite weight,
easy to stow and look great and come in a lot of different
colors and styles. PVC jackets are the opposite. If I am
out in the woods on a rainy day I tend to slow down and
keep exertion levels low with this jacket to keep the
the sweat from building up on the
inside of the jacket, hard to do but it is the
nature of rain jackets. I bought grey color and it looks
great, not sure if you can still get this color.
A good tip also is to follow the wash instructions so not
to damage the membrane.

Rated 1 out of 5áby scuba114 difficult to zip
My raincoat came today just in time to use as it's been raining for the past two days up here in Syracuse with no let up expected. I walk my dog 2/3 times a day and was looking foward to using my raincoat.
The zipper was made very poorly and I could not zip it closed. After 10 minutes I finally got it to zip and went for a walk with my 7 month old Lab. Upon getting home I could not zip it off. My wife tried to help me unzip it with out success. After a period of time we were able to un zip it enough to pull it up over my head.
Why would LL Bean allow their usually great products to be made with such poor quality zippers.

Rated 5 out of 5áby rupa78 Great jacket for the money
I am very pleased with this jacket, and also have the Trail model pants. I have been doing a lot of hiking while spending the summer in NH, and this jacket has been the perfect companion. Breaking through the tree-line anywhere on these mountains is like entering another world weatherwise. The temperature drops, and the wind goes crazy.
I've only encountered mild rain, where it worked just fine. However it really performs great as a windbreaker. It is easy to pack, takes up very little room, and the hood is also great for keeping your hat from flying off the side of the mountain. lol
I am somewhat confused by the reviews saying the jacket is too short. I am 6'1", and it fits perfect for a rain jacket. I have two other rainsuits for hunting & fishing, and the Trail model jacket is longer than either of those.

Rated 1 out of 5áby mountainrambler A big disappointment
I bought this jacket for my husband for travelling and hiking. It has not lived up to expectations. It is not waterproof. The pockets are made with a flimsy mesh fabric that tears if you put car keys in it. My husband has not worn the jacket a lot but the breathable lining is already starting to rub off at the hood. I bought it just over a year ago and I feel I should send it back.
