I have 20/20 longrange vision but need magnifiers for reading (and tying on lures.) I bought these with the 2.0 bifocal magnifiers. They are placed low enough on the lenses that they don't otherwise interfere with driving the boat, casting, etc., but work like a charm for reading the GPS and changing baits. I'd given up using 4 lb test on my ultralight freshwater rigs but with these glasses I can manage to tie 4 lb just fine. They are polarized, too, so that improves the ability to spot fish. Well made and worth the $89 I paid.

Overall I like these glasses. The top portion gives a clear view of things outdoors, unless driving into a sunset. To put the bottom portion low enough for me to use while driving, I have to scoot them down a bit on my nose. I found no other glasses like these elsewhere, so was glad that LLB offers them.

These glasses are very similar to a pair that I purchased from LL Bean several years ago. Sadly, they are now at the bottom of one of my favorite lakes. I find that these glasses should serve me very well also. The copper polarized lenses allow me to sight fish very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MNFlyGal Perfect bifocals!
I love these sunglasses! They are perfect for fly fishing and now I no longer have to switch back and forth between my sunglasses and readers. They are also handy when driving to see anything you need to see in the vehicle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jimbo54362 Great clarity and sun protection!
These sunglasses exceeded expectation. They have great clarity while easing eye strain in the sun. I wish they came in +1.25 as the +1.50 is a little too strong for my eyes.

So far so good . Nice tint and good polarization . Blocks glare well .Took only a short time to adjust to the bifocals while fishing and didn't fall in once while wading . Sturdy ,comfortable ,and good looking frame with a fair price . They work for me .

These sunglasses were a welcome surprise. I usually shop for rimless sunglasses at other non-fishing related sites so I was surprised to see these in the LL Bean fishing catalog. The wrap around lens allows excellent lateral viewing that is not restricted by the strong thick temple arm. The 1.5x bifocal comes in handy and I am partial to amber/copper or smoke tinted lenses. The comfortable bridge contacts bring the glasses close to the face so you may have to modify the resting position outward slightly if you have a short nose, long eye lashes, or thicker cheeks to avoid a "goggle effect".
This high quality model has a nice combination of attributes.

My second pair of bifocal sunglasses. Alas, first were lost! They are comfortable and really ideal for sport and travel. In addition, they look great. They are worth the price and I have recommended them to friends and family. I am a long time customer and remain satisfied with the service and quality of LL Bean products. I am glad there is one retailer I can still rely on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BuyingLLBean30years Great bifocal sunglasses
My husband lost his first pair of these and tried going without for a while, but the substitutes don't measure up. These wrap around so they protect his eyes from glare and the bifocal part is big enough to be usable for reading on the beach. (The other llbean bifocal sunglasses have a smaller insert, which makes reading for any length of time difficult.) The quality of the lenses is much better than what you find at the drugstore.

I wear prescription glasses to read. When fishing, I definitely need help. For the past 3 years I have been using flip magnifiers that attach to the brim of my hat. Then I wondered, what about bifocals? I was thinking about prescription bifocal sunglasses, but they would have cost a lot of money. So I saw these glasses.. I bought the 2.5 magnification, and they are awesome.. so much more convenient. You just have to learn not to look down when you walk because the ground will look blurry
