It's a sweatband, beanie, scarf, bandana and face mask all in one – and a favorite of tropical fishing guides. Any way you wear it, you'll stay cooler and be protected from the sun's UV rays. This version features odorless and invisible Insect Shield protection that fends off biting insects. Made of CoolMax® Extreme polyester fiber that wicks moisture from your skin. The soft, stretchy fabric will fit snugly, protect you from windburn and stay put when you're in a moving boat. Rated to UPF 20. Available in US only. Imported. Machine wash and dry.

Rated 4 out of 5�by msbari Buff Headwear is comfortable, versatile I wore the buff on a motorcycle ride on a 50 degree misty day and it kept my neck and chin warm. I haven't had the chance to test its SPF or bug repellant qualities. April 17, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 Comfy and Functional! This scarf/hat/bandana thing is awesome! The fabric is liquidy soft, stretchy, but strong, and weighs nothing. It fit over my husbands space helmet head easily, and kept its shape after doing so. The material feels cool to the touch, and does not trap heat or produce a sweaty feeling. My ONLY complaint is that it's not reversible (the design is only on one side of the fabric). That is being super picky, because this thing is super functional. We are taking a trip to Guatemala next month, which will be the true test of its insect repellence. Can't speak to that yet. Very pleased so far! April 10, 2013

His teacher was wearing one and had no problem with the bugs that were eating me alive, she had bought it on another site but had paid more so when I saw that llbean had them I ordered them right away. It was in the 90's and the buffs kept our heads cool, the bugs away and our hair out of our eyes. The people I was with liked them so much I gave them away. I went to a local store to get another one and the price was $22.00 higher!!! I am thrilled with the quality or products and prices at LL Bean. Thanks July 8, 2011

With my love of the out doors in the spring in Maine, comes pesky black flies. I have been wearing my Buff headwear regularly and without a doubt it helps keep the bugs away. Additionally, with this cooler spring, it has been warm and comfortable to wear. I wear it as a turtleneck, it's functional and looks nice. May 19, 2011

Has enough stretch to fit both an adult and child's head. Haven't tested the insect shield properties yet, but have had good experience with insect shield treated fabric in the past. I will mostly wear it around my neck this summer to keep the mosquitos away. I know it will work because I already have the insect shield bandana and it worked January 25, 2011
