I've hiked a number of mountains with these pants.
They work well for the weather. I wouldn't mind pockets, but I don't care about the pockets since I'll have a jacket in the rain.
The real issue is simple: You can't sit down on a rock or tree without the pants ripping. I hiked about 30 miles, sat on a rock and little dots immediately tore into the pants. They are fine with rain, but aren't durable. I continued to use them for another 30 mile hike and sat again at some point--new tear. The size is fine, but the lightweight fabric isn't durable. Sadly none of the pathfinder pants fit me. These would be perfect with a better backside durability.

Bought these pants to wear at last night's Penn State-Rutgers game in the rain. These were perfect!! Wore them over jeans. Kept me perfectly dry and warm. The rain seemed to run right off them and they had a nice feel. Would be perfect if they had regular side pockets.

Since I work on the water in a very warm climate I am very pleased by the protection these pants offer against heavy rain while being very light cool.

I have not had the chance to have to wear these pants yet in a rain storm. I am 6'4 and got the large tall and was expecting them to be a little short as it said the inseam was only 33 inches and I wear a 36. I got them and they actually fit me perfectly in the length. I am going on a trip to Yellowstone at the end of this week and bought these so if we had bad weather I could still be out in the weather and see the sites. The zipper that goes all the way up to the knee on the outside of each pant leg also makes it easy to get the pants on while still wearing shoes.

The elastic drawstring at the waistband is cinched to size by a cheap foam device, which does not hold its position adequately. I am constantly needing to adjust this in an attempt to keep the pants from falling down. Other than this annoyance, they kept me dry and comfortable during a recent trip to Alaska.

Rated 5 out of 5áby MickiB Perfect for riding the H-D (for my husband).
Pants fit my husband great and should be perfect for inclimate weather while riding his Harley which is why he purchased them!

I checked over the stitching with a fine tooth comb. Looks excellent.
I like the style, true sizing, and ease of putting on. I only wish that the pants would come in the same colors of the jacket instead of just black.

A week after receiving these rain pants, I found myself camping at Acadia and kayaking in an extended downpour. I returned to Blackwoods shortly after rain stopped falling and found myself totally dry underneath these pants! Exceeded my expectations!!

Rain pants have always been difficult to get on over boots. The closure on the bottom of the pants leg opens it so it is effortless to get these pants on over a boot. The Velcro closure on the bottom of the pants allows the bottom of the leg to fit tightly at or above the ankle. This prevents stepping on the bottom of the pant leg and minimizes getting mud on the leg. The mud that gets on the pants can be shaken off when dry. This is a big plus for me.
The only negative is that they come in one color. I hike a lot in snow and would like a bright color that can readily bee seen should I fall and not be able to get up.

The lack of pockets, combined with the quite long inseam, funky waist add up to a lower rating. I would rather pay more and have a better fit with more whistles and bells
