Rated 4 out of 5 by SelfControl Waterproof but too long and waist questionable
These pants are great as far as quality. My husband sat in the rain for 4 hours and was totally dry. They are quite comfortable. Unfortunately, they are way long (he is 5'8") and we had to take to the tailor to hem. And he doesn't like the waist elastic as it's too stretchy and just keeps stretching when he tried to get a good tight fit. I wish LLBean had used something different for the waist. Even so, because they are so comfortable and totally waterproof, he is glad to have them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CtHuskyMike Trail Model Rain Pants-tough, breathable windproof
Picked up a pair of these pants because doing a fund raising walk with my family on the CT shore and it happened to be during the tail end of the most recent hurricane. Only had to deal with extreme wind and light rain. Pants were easy to put on over my jeans. They did what I wanted them to do, which is keep me warm and dry!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by artv8880 great trail pants
easy on, easy off, waterproof, breathable, with plenty of room for layering - or not. a mild rustling sound when moving about but no big deal for me. red would have been my color preference.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MTShell Poor Wastband
The waistband on these rain paints is poor. The keeper for the waist adjustment is in adequate and will not retain size. Waist then will fall down.

Rated 3 out of 5 by BluenoseShopper Needs a better draw cord clip at the waist
I almost did not purchase these pants because of the poor quality draw cord clip at the waist. It is a piece of foam which does not hold the cord tight. I looked for a suitable clip in the camping section and found a barrel lock clip on a stuff bag. A store clerk was kind enough to give me a spare barrel lock clip (Bean doesn't sell draw cord clips) which worked perfectly on the pants. Much better product now. I recommend the pants but they need a better draw cord clip (reason for average rating)

Rated 1 out of 5 by Spiritwind Useless in pouring rain
We bought a set of rain gear well in advance to use on a Grand Canyon rafting trip this past May. Turns out they were expensive and useless. One day we were rafting through a downpour and we were soaked and close to hypothermia as the cold rain soaked right through these and we may as well not have worn them. These might be good for a quick shower but don't depend on these for anything where it is really wet. Just wish I could get my money back!
