It is nice to have a cap that is waterproof when I play golf or go to Ravens game

I live in Portland Oregon and walk daily, which means walking in the rain. I was tired of soaked headgear and needed a lightweight waterproof baseball style hat. This hat meets my needs perfectly. So much so I purchased one for my wife, who initially was not interested. But now loves the utility of the hat. I even use it for quick errands, meaning it looks pretty good on me, to keep the rain off my glasses. One caution, if you require a warm, waterproof hat, this one is not for you.

My regular caps get wet when in the rain in my raincoat. The baseball cap brim is larger and waterproof. Hurrah!

Actually, I've bought this hat a total of four times -- we keep losing them. We live in the Northwest, so we have lots of rain, but a surprisingly limited selection of rain gear, especially hats. Personally, I hate hoods and umbrellas, and prefer a billed hat, which keeps rain off my face without obscuring my vision. This hat is good-looking, unfussy, performs well and fits in my pocket. I keep an eye out for it whenever I go to the LL Bean site because it is offered in a shifting, but always paltry, array of colors. I used to have a yellow one, which I really miss. My husband is no fan of black, but he lost his red one, and black was the only color available this round. So, note to LL Bean: more colors!

I love this hat for hiking and taking the dogs for a run. I bought a yellow one about 5 years ago and wish they came in that color because it is very visible on the road and trails.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KayleysMom Great ball cap!
I just bought this cap for hiking. It keeps the sun out of my eyes and the bill is extra long. I intend to wear it under my hood when it rains to keep the hood up and to keep the rain off my face. I esp like that it is adjustable because my head is large and I made it so it fits very comfortably.

Like the hat. Don't like the adjustable band in the back just hanging there. Need to be able to tuck excess band into the back of the hat.

I bought it for my husband, it was a great fit and comfortable. Going to buy one for myself, very easy when raining in and out of the car, no umbrella needed.

Great hat. I use it for walking in the rain, jogging in the rain, and bicycling in the Northwest rain. For many years, all I used was a cotton bandanna underneath my helmet while bicycling in the rain. In mid to heavy rain, the water would mix with my old sweat and drip into my eyes, sometimes blinding me. A merino wool cap underneath sometimes helped. But, recently, bicycling in a heavy rain with this cap on, I had no drip into my eyes. I could actually see while bicycling in dark, dreary days--certainly a matter of survival! One small caveat. I jogged the other day in it. It was not that cold and it wasn't raining. I did not notice any discomfort on my head, but when I took the cap off, the inside was dripping with condensation from my head. I believe the vapor transmission would have been better had it been a cooler day.
