The New Balance 845 walkers I bought before these were great. I find the 577 too heavy, hot in warm weather, and the squeaky sound they make when walking is annoying

As a walker of dogs as an income-producing hobby, I walk up to 7 dogs every day while their "owners" are working. Most days tally 5 miles or more and my New Balance 577 walking shoes are always up to it. When I do notice I'm wearing them, they feel so comfortable. Stylish and good gripping in the snow too.

When I first put these shoes on, I thought the leather uppers were a little stiff and the width at the ball of the foot a little narrow. After wearing them a few hours, the leather felt a little more flexible and the width felt more comfortable. I love the wider toe box which makes the shoes more comfortable but less sporty looking. By the end of the day, they felt like they had molded to my feet. They are more supportive than mesh walking shoes I've owned but could use a little more arch support and a little more cushioning in the sole. I also worry about the lack of adequate ventilation holes in the leather, especially for summer out here in Las Vegas. That's why I gave them a four out of five stars.

These are walking shoes. They are light weight but strong and they fit well. It is so hard to find this size 7 1/2 4Wide. I am a woman but I have to get men's shoes because of my width. These shoes are great.

Recently received NB 577, tried them on and to my surprise were at least a full size small in length. Could not judge width because of the length. Probably will not choose to exchange, just don't have the time to play the exchange game even though shipping is free.

Appear well constructed. Nice looking enough to wear to work in a professional setting. Have walked on treadmill and outside as well as worn them to work, they are very comfortable.

My dad says these are comfortable with plenty of support. He is 80 and walks (outdoors) 30 - 45 minutes once to twice daily. This is the 2nd pair I've gotten for him.

My dog walks are much more enjoyable again, and these fit great at my usual sizing.

I always wear NB athletic shoes; they have the best fit for me. My wife bought these and based on reviews, bought 1/2 size up but she had to exchange for 1/2 size down, so for me this style runs true to size. She got these on sale so they were a good price. I wear them hard and usually need to replace every year or so. More expensive ones would probably hold up longer, but I'm happy with the value and quality of these.
