I love this coat!
I'm 5'2" and weigh 125 lbs, and the medium coat comes down to about my knees or maybe 1 inch above them. The pockets are generous. The coat is easy to put on and take off. It's lightweight and very portable.
A few mornings ago it was raining outside, and the temperature was a bit above freezing. I refused to let the weather keep me from my usual jog. I didn't want to wear long pants, but I did want to protect myself. I didn't previously have in mind to use this coat for running, but I guess I was inspired. I slipped on a light sweater and then this coat. The coat nicely covered my shorts. The hood is adjustable and it was just perfect - not too large that it restricted my vision, but not too tight either. The fabric does seem to be quite breathable, because I felt comfortable in the coat the entire 30 minutes I was out. When I got back I felt my sweater, and it wasn't wet, so the fabric lives up to its waterproof claim!
I actually like the style of the coat. I find it classy. I was a bit unsure about purchasing the fuschia, but it did seem pretty, and now I'm so glad I did!
I expect to get a lot of compliments on this coat as I start to wear it on a regular basis in the Spring.

i think the best way to describe this coat is "perfect." it is as light as a feather so i don't mind carrying it around when the weather clears. i was able to wear a heavy sweater underneath it w/out feeling constricted. and, after testing it out in bitter cold 70mph winds and non-stop rain, it is 100% water and wind proof!!! the length is also perfect. it hits just above the knee. the pockets are easy to get in and out of and are HUGE! the other thing i love are the velcro tabs. if you don't want/need to use the duel zipper, you can close the jacket with the velcro fasteners. the hood is a nice size as well and, once zipped up, it covers your neck very well! i just can't say enough about this coat...because it is so light weight and packs down to nothing, it is great for travel too. i have been looking for a coat like this for some time but the few i found were too expensive and didn't have near as many great features as this coat! it goes from casual to dressing too! well worth every penny! i hope LL bean keeps this one around for a long time!
....loved it so much i bought one as a gift for my sister!

This coat fits perfectly! I am taking it on a trip to Europe, and it folds into a small package for my luggage. I love that the visor is sturdy enough to draw rain away from your face!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Megbun Perfect West Coast Raincoat!
I adore this coat - bright, packable, roomy enough for a sweater, full-coverage hood and a breeze to wash. I do wish LL Bean could offer this in a petite size though as the regular runs a wee bit long in length and arms for those of us under 5'3". Regardless, when the time comes, I'll be back for another!

I was outside with my dogs as the wet snow storm was beautifing and sustaining CO in May. In less than 1 hour, my coat was wet all the way through....it is the 1st test of the coat, as we do not get much rain in AZ or CO. I have to return the coat, although it looks great, and I love the bright color. Maybe I got a defective one?

Rated 5 out of 5 by MSav Found the sizing big
I ordered my first jacket in a size XL because that is my normal size. When I tried it on, I actually found it to be too big, especially around my mid-section (where clothes usually fit snug!). I've since ordered a L and it fits perfectly! I love the design and the look!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dutchmom Just what I needed!
I needed a longer length, lightweight raincoat for my kids' sporting events, and this is perfect! I am 5'4", 130lb, and I ordered the medium. A small would have fit me since the cut is relaxed, but I wanted to be able to wear it comfortably over school sweatshirts. It was very wrinkled at first, so I laundered it and it looks great. I don't think it's overly noisy as previously posted--it's a raincoat, and raincoats that are waterproof will make some noise, but it's not any louder than my winter coat. The beechnut color is very cool! Love the big zippered pockets too! Thanks, LLBean!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Backpacker20 No underarm zips... thus too hot for backpacking
I thought I had found my dream backpacking jacket. Light weight. Length long enough to cover my shorts... so I could avoid wearing rain pants and could just wear gaiters. HOWEVER... THERE ARE NO ARM ZIPS MAKING THE JACKET TOO WARM and compromising ventilation during heavy activity. SO CLOSE BEANS!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by nlek only nice on the outside
the outer fabric of this coat is very nice and the 1X fit me pretty well (i usually use a XL but ordered up just in case because i like things roomy and so i would have room for sweater or whatever underneath. the 1X was not overly huge, at least for me)
the inside had a terribly crinkly noise and feeling. not like a lining at all. it wasn't something i would want to walk to work in. also i didn't like how the grey inside shows at the neck. it's more attractive visually when the inside of the raincoat is the same color as the outside or at least not something dull like that grey.
i returned this and paid more for the other kind of LLBean raincoat that has the mesh lining throughout. it was totally worth it. i say if you like the real lining in your raincoats, buy the more expensive kind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nan722 Love, love, love these raincoats!
I have two L. L. Bean raincoats with the velcro down the front and at the wrists. I like it much better than snaps because I have arthritis and sometimes snaps can be a major pain. Must have a hood because of a neck problem and these fill the bill... have hardly worn anything else since I bought these unless it's really, really cold--in NC--as long as I have and turtleneck & sweater on underneath. Really great for all year round. I'm getting ready to buy another one since I've just about worn one of them out--my favorite, of course. I've had many compliments on them and people asking where I got them. One is pink and the other periwinkle--can't remember the actual colors names on the order. Now I'm going to order a turquoise one.
