These are my go-to pants for traveling overseas. They have a tight weave so do not stretch out of shape. They breathe so I don't feel sticky and hot. I wash them in the sink and they dry fast. Having just traveled in Ireland, these were my pants of choice when it was misty or rainy as I knew they would dry fast. My other choice was LLBean's Perfect Fit knit pants which are also fabulous travel pants. It is challenging for me to find petite pants where the rise fits properly. Both of these pants do fit me perfectly. I do wish the Comfort Trail pants came in the Iron color in petites. Just as a side note, I wear the newer of my 2 pairs of black Comfort Trail pants with a good top and a scarf, etc. as a dressier option when going out to dinner. Honestly I doubt that anyone notices that they have a definitely casual vibe. My theory is: Black reads as 'formal' before the drawcords at the legs' hem (which I never use) are noticed. : )

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mountaingazer Should have just ordered my usual size
After reading several reviews and concluding these pants run large, I decided to order 2 sizes larger than I usually do. Big mistake. I swam in those. I was still hesitant to order my usual size, so I then ordered one size bigger. Those were still too big in the waist, but I was running out of time. I needed a good pair of hiking pants for an upcoming 14er hike I had planned. I was able to cinch up the waist using the hidden elastic ribbons inside the waistband and made it work. The pants performed well for the hike. Fabric is very durable and fit is comfortable. Next time I will just order my normal size.

Rated 2 out of 5 by setsu comfortabel but not wash and wear!
These fit okay and were comfortable to wear except that the button on the waist band inside digs in when sitting especially if one leans forward..
Noisy when you walk
Do not wash and wear. Followed instructions and they came out very wrinkled. Would return but that costs me money to send back
and I don't get the refund readily in Canadain!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Terri3 Wonderful Fabric
These pants fit true to size & are made of the most wonderful fabric I've ever worn in pants. They are cool & have a wee bit of stretch, which makes them very comfortable and not binding at all. I was afraid the fabric would be noisy, like the parachute pants of years ago, but they are quiet, soft, and a great combination of function, fashion, and flattering fit without being tight. I have since ordered more! I would give 5 stars, except the snap & zipper are off center about half an inch or so & that feels a little odd. Bean happily replaced one pair for me because of this, but the replacement is the same. Still, I love them. My favorite pants. I want more & hope they go on sale! I've also ordered the shorts.

I love the Ash color of the pants. The fabric is light and perfect for warmer weather. But unfortunately I couldn't close the pants. They fit me too tight, so I'm sending them back for a refund.

Appreciate that Bean "gets it" that not everybody wants to show themselves in ultra clingy workout wear. Yes, they're a little pricey but so much better than the lesser priced junk pants at the local sporting good store. Practical with lots of pockets and good fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MomWNL Hold up well. Pack well. Dry quickly. Comfortable.
I actually have two versions of these, the black ones without the lining, and black ones with the flannel-ish lining, and am about to buy another pair for summer use. I am 5"3, 175 lbs and the 16 P unlined is perfect. When I was 5'3", 165 lbs, the 14 P in the lined version was perfect. I travel a lot and I need something that will continue to look good, that packs well, and that will dry overnight in a hotel room and not require ironing. Both versions performed excellently. The lined ones were not as warm as I expected, but they were better than regular pants. The unlined ones have travelled for 5 months, on three continents, if you count the US, and are still looking like new. Both versions have a great adjustable elastic waist thing. I especially like this because my waist is proportionally smaller than my hips, so I usually have to wear a belt to tighten the waist to keep pants up. That is not necessary with these pants. The cargo pocket is small - not real obvious - but zippered and big enough to hold my passport securely. I also got into the habit of sticking my hotel room key in it so I wouldn't loose it. I also used it for cash that I needed to have handy, like for bus fares, so I wouldn't have to pull out a wallet on a busy street. I choose black for both versions and I was able to wear a nice top with them to look a little dressed up when necessary. Now I have decided to order a khaki pair for summer use at home because I have gotten so used to the convenience of the pocket, the comfort of the waist, and the continued nice appearance of the fabric that I want to use them here, too, but the black color gets hot when its 90 degrees.

True to their name, the Comfort Trail Pants are just that. I had never ordered clothes on line and had never worn LL Bean clothes before so was a little apprehensive about my order. But once I put them on, I knew these were going to be my favorite traveling pants.Wore them on my trip and loved the comfort, convenience of multiple zippered pockets and the ease of drying!
