Got the lined version of these pants last winter and I lived in them. Wound up ordering a second pair.
Ordered the unlined version for warmer weather. They are cool and light. I particularly like them for the pockets that hold iphone, wallet, camera, anything smallish. They are the perfect "out and about" pants.
The size 8 perfectly fits my 5' 6" 120 lb frame.

I ordered my usual size and am very happy with the fit and comfort. They went into my suitcase immediately, and were worn a number of times on hikes.Very comfortable, and I like the ash color.

Rated 1 out of 5 by joan08 Terrible fit. Not even close to the normal size
I should have listened to the recent reviews that cautioned something is wrong with the sizing. I typically will wear a 16-18 in a pant. I worried the 18 might be tight so I ordered the 18 and the 20. Neither one were even close?.and no I haven't gotten bigger! Very disappointing since I ordered the shorts and capris too. All are the same. I am guessing they are switching over to a new supplier. I just ask that llbean checks they are getting what they think they are. I am returning everything.

These pants had a lot of neat features, but I hated the swish, swish, swish noise the made every time I walked. Knew it would drive me crazy, so they had to be returned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Melmacgas Great work pants
I bought these because I am doing a summer construction project. They are great in the heat of a NC summer. Fit was a big deal for me since I have to be able to bend and move easily and these are perfect. The adjustable waist band tabs were a huge plus. Length is perfect and rise couldn't be better. Love the side pocket for my phone too. Keeps it handy without steaming it up like in a rear pocket. For reference I bought a size 12 petite. I'm 5'2" about 135 pounds. Now have 2 pairs and couldn't be happier!

Rated 4 out of 5 by learninglife Changed the sizing since last year?
I purchased my first pair of these pants last year (8 petite length, color ash) and I loved them so much that I wanted to buy another pair this year in a slightly smaller size. However, the new, smaller 6P pants arrived today and they are about the same size as last year's size 8P, maybe even a little larger! I wonder if the difference in fit is because they are now coming from a different factory; last year's pair was made in China and this year's pair was made in Indonesia. (I had the same issue with the perfect fit stretch pants, and it took me about 4 exchanges to get a pair with the right fit. LL Bean's manufacturing seems to be getting more irregular in terms of sizing.)
Granted, the waistline of these trail pants is adjustable and can be cinched in with an elastic and button arrangement, but the overall fit is a little baggier than in my previous pair. I am going to try ordering the next size down, which sadly is backordered in this color.
Overall I would still recommend these pants because they are wonderful for hiking - cool and lightweight, but sturdy. Just beware that you may not be able to order your usual size and get the right fit on the first try.

I love the fit of these pants. They're so comfortable and the quality of the material is the best! I have these in black and recently ordered the Ash. They fit true to size.

Rated 3 out of 5 by KJCann High narrow waist
I'm 5'4" and was encouraged by the good reviews of this pant. I ordered two sizes to try because I didn't want them to be tight. Well, both fit about the same through the hips, legs and length with great stretchiness, but they were both absurdly narrow and unforgiving at the waist. Even the size up! The little elastic tabs for tightening the waist are a joke for me. I would have loved to see a slightly lower rise and/or a waist that is as stretchy as the rest of the pant. It would be perfect if I could get away with not buttoning it!

I bought these pants in two colors, expecting to return one of them. I kept them both. I was a little hesitant because they are not inexpensive, but they have proved to be worth the cost. I just returned from a 2 week trip to Ireland and the UK. I thought these would be a good alternative to jeans (which I wear all the time). I only wore my jeans once and switched between these two pairs the entire two weeks. After two weeks of wear, without being washed, they still looked and felt great. 1) They are light in warm weather, but they also seem to keep the wind out a little bit. It was more fall-like weather and I was comfortable. 2) They dry very fast - we got caught in a torrential downpour running for a train and my pants were soaked. At the end of the 30min train ride, they were dry again. 3) The comfort waistband...I did not even realize what this was at first. On both sides of the pants, there is a strip of elastic that comes out and attaches to a button. If you want the pants to be tighter, pull the elastic out more and button it to the next hole. I usually always wear belts, but this is much better! 4) They are stretchy but don't feel stretchy. They move with you. The only "negative" is that they do run just a tad short. I am almost 5'7" and I would have liked one more inch. However I found that if the pants were lower on my waist, the length was fine when I was standing. I did originally try ordering the M-tall, but those are larger everywhere, not just in the length. I also found that if I wore a nice shirt and sweater, they could pass as a little dressier. I am a teacher and I wore them to work. I highly recommend these pants!
