I love these pants. Cool comfortable fabric with a bit of stretch, for me the fit is ideal. I was impressed with the detail of workmanship.
The flattering look and supreme comfort (partly the nice deep pockets) made me buy a second pair after a week with my original purchase.
They don't wrinkle easily and look great all day long.

The pair I recently received is my third, each in a different color. They are so comfortable and I love the side zippered pockets, perfect for a cell phone. I am anxiously awaiting the pair that has a lining that is due to arrive in the fall. I hope they fit as well as the unlined ones! They travel very well as they fold up to almost nothing. I hope to see more colors with each season!

Although these pants are made of a light weight fabric and have several zippered pockets, they were not as long as I would have liked them to be. I also would have preferred them to be a little looser fit for those times when you are excersizing, climbing, stretching. Other than that they are well made and as advertised. I usually have problems with finding pants that are long enough since I have long legs. If you are of average height and weight these pants would be great for you.

The material is very light. They run small. I ordered my usual size 8, and I couldn't even get them buttoned. I'm 5'7" 145 lbs, not fat. I love the zipper pockets and they seemed to be long enough, but I had to return.

Very, very comfortable. However, did not purchase because the look was sort of rumpled.

I ordered two pairs of the Comfort Trail Pants to wear on the Tour du Mont Blanc, a 14 day hiking trip. They were great - totally comfortable to wear when hiking on long, steep climbs going up and down rocky trails. If you don't feel the need to zip off the legs (which I didn't), they work great and look good. I would prefer a higher rise but I have to admit the lower waist was totally comfortable. The waist is a bit big so the side buttons to cinch up the waistband were critical. I am a tad under 5'2" and the petite size worked great with hiking boots but are a tad on the longish side when worn with street shoes. They washed well and dried overnight when machine washed but took a bit longer on the days I had to hand wash them. They looked good enough to wear around town on our rest days and I even wore them on the long flight home. I totally recommend them especially if you are looking for hiking pants that look good off the trail as well as on.

Petite length perfect for me, 5' 2". I am a size 8 and the fit is not too tight, not too loose. On a recent hike we got caught in a cold rain and I was comfortable. And good looking too, for those after hike food stops.

The petite size that I ordered fits perfectly. The fabric is perfect for a southern climate --lightweight with wicking. The legs tuck into hiking boots easily and protect the skin from chiggers, ticks, and branches along the trails. I like the pockets. My only wish for an added feature, a loop on the waist to hang a water bottle (reason for the 4 star rather than a 5 star).

Perfect for hiking. Material is light, but a bit noisy.

I have had the capri version of these for a couple of years and finally decided to purchase the pants for a trip to Europe. Also living in NYC, I don't have a washer and dryer at home. I just use a compact sink washing machine for my laundry that only handles small loads and I line dry everything. Things like jeans require trips to the laundry mat, and I've found my self living in the crop versions of these during the summer due to the fact that I can wash them at night and have them dry in the morning! The same holds true for the pants of course, making these ideal travel pants!! I've sink washed them and had them wearably dry within about 12 hours (not totally dry but slightly damp in the pocket areas and waist band, not too damp to wear).
In general, I mostly love the fit of the pants. I'm a plus-sized gal, 45" hips and I ordered the size 18. I'm pear shaped, so my waist where I like to wear my pants is about 40" but my true waist is about 38". The rise on these for me is around my low waist. The size 18 fits perfectly in the hips. I don't like when things are too baggy because it gives me elephant butt. These provide enough support that my cellulite doesn't show through but are thin enough that they don't add bulk. The legs are fairly generously cut but they aren't too wide. I store my weight in my thighs and generally need a more relaxed leg just so it fits the circmference of my leg! If you have very thin legs, you might consider another style of pants. For thicker legs however, these fit nicely and also have forgiving stretch.
My only complaint about the fit is that while they are loose in the back waist band (which is adjustable), the front is consistently pretty tight. This is great if you have a flat stomach but if you're an apple shape that stores most of your fat in your belly, I would strongly recommend against these pants. I have some belly pudge and find the front waist fit a bit constricting and often have to pop the snap if I'm sitting for long periods of time. The pants are loose in the back waist area, so it's more about how the stretch in the waist line is distributed. That being said, the flat front is ultimately more slimming than a gathered front with elastic would be, and the fact that they have a snap and not a button closure is especially convenient.
All but the side pockets are zip closures which is nice. I wish the side pockets also had zip closures, which brings me to my other complaint about the fit. The side pockets gap a bit, even though I do have plenty of room in the waist. I don't find myself using the side pockets at all. The cargo pocket on the leg fits my smartphone perfectly and I often use it for coins or my id and passport when travelling. As long as you put flat things in there, it doesn't add bulk and isn't noticeable.
Overall, I love the stretch and the quick drying. I think the black color offers the most versatility for business casual wear in addition to functional activewear. I am planning to purchase a pair of the lined pants in black for winter.
I appreciate the availability of high quality active wear for plus sized ladies like myself. Just because I'm fat doesn't mean I'm not physically active and I appreciate that LL Bean acknowledges the array of shapes and sizes of their female customers :D
