I like them. I have been wearing another model of new balalnce and this time I have the right size which LL Bean recommends as 1 size larger. It fits much better than my others. Very comfortable. i walk a mile everyday and these are perfect. One thign the white is not a real white. It seems to be more ivory than white.

Finding shoes in my size is a real problem, size 11, narrow. Just wish more styles were available.

These are wonderful for walking. I can wear them with or without my inserts AND I can fit my inserts inside with the insoles that come with the shoe for a softer cushioning.

The only thing I would change on this shoe is the tongue is too short. I tie them different due to flat foot. The tying of it hurts the top of my foot.
It is well cushioned for walking.

I could not wear either one of the shoes I ordered due to my bunions....I am sending 1 pair back and gave the other pair that I tried to wear to work one day to my sister. Am very disappointed!!

I bought these for my daughter who works on her feet for 8 hours. Since she began using them, her feet and lower back are so much better. I would highly recommend these for comfort and support. And she likes the way they look too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by CommuterGranny Perfect Sneakers!
I've been buying these for years and find them perfect. I'm tall and thin and have never had a desk job. Fifty years of walking, lifting babies, trays, and boxes have subjected my feet to endless punishment. They need a size 8 Wide comfortable shoe, strong side support, a padded arch, and a roomy toe-box. The New Balance 577 Lace Walking Shoes have all that. And, they're nearly indestructible. I always have an old pair for gardening and a new pair for going out in public. If they get wet, I stuff them with newspapers and that helps them keep their shape months longer. Wearing no other shoe, and believe me, I've tried, because these aren't so stylish, I'd say a pair lasts two - three years. Any other shoes (even my wide LL Bean Mary Janes this spring) leave me in pain the next day. For dressy events I sneak by with slip-on slipper things. If anyone knows of another shoe with the NB 577 sole and support, I'd like to know, but in the meantime, I'm loyal to these perfect sneakers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Comfortable leather walking shoe.
These shoes are very well made of real leather not synthetic materials. They come in black which is hard to find in women's. They have an ample toe box which is good in a walking shoe. The fit is true to size. This is the second pair that I have bought from L L Bean. I am going to order another pair to have in reserve, that is proof that they are very comfortable and durable. I highly recommend this shoe to all walkers.

Rated 2 out of 5 by OzarkRider Decline in orthotics design and fit
No reflection on Bean and their service/company. I used to own several pair of New Balance athletic shoes - very comfortable and supportive. This pair had very poor arch support(should not have to insert an orthotic in a pair of properly designed athletic shoes) and the shoe was just short enough to probably cause issues going forward. A half size larger would have been too sloppy and the arch support being inadequate made these shoes a return. Very disappointed in New Balance as they used to be a "go to" shoe. I will have to go to a brick and mortar so that I can try on several different makes/models and I will make a purchase that way. The pricing was very good (on sale) for this model, but that is the only compliment I can offer.
