Rated 4 out of 5 by elbeans beautiful bench
The bench is sturdy and very attractive. It was difficult to put together at the end. But we made it and we are looking forward to years of good use.

We bought this bench to replace a cedar bench (that was not purchased from LLBean) that sits outside our front door. The original bench fell apart because every time the wind blew, it fell over and was blown into the yard. However, this all weather bench has stayed upright during the DC Derecho and a few tropical storms. Also, it's green color remains crisp despite hot and humid DC summers and ice and snow storms this winter. I am so impressed that I am replacing our cedar Adirondack chairs with the LLBean all weather version.

We searched a long time before we made our choice for a bench just outside our front entry. Leave it to Bean to make it a no brainer. The size, the heft, the "Bean green" all make this a perfect bench. It is so inviting with the cedar stripe cushion. We assume that it will withstand our Midwest winters as promised (sans cushion, of course). We love the price, substantially lower than others of the same quality and design.

Rated 3 out of 5 by donzfrei Assembly of Garden Bench
The assembly was difficult in that the chair screws were very difficult to screw in. The back chair screw did not screw the back flush to the seat. I have very flexible thumb joints which made the use of the hex wrench difficult. Upon assembly, the bench was very comfortable and stylish, fitting well into my garden setting.

We ordered a green one and received a white one! Goes together easily, impervious to weather.

We really like this bench, just received yesterday. Because this item is USA made, the assembly instructions are easy to read and understand. We have some assembly suggestions. The bolts have a 4mm hex head, and the hex key provided is too small for adequate leverage. The bolts really go in tightly -- good that they are tight, but not for the fingers. One would have hand cramps before getting the bench together using the provided tool. We had a longer hex key that avoided that for us, and I'd advise a buyer to get one in advance, or use a visegrip on the one provided. When attaching the back to the arms, start the lower bolts first, then the upper ones. If you do the upper ones first, you might have alignment problems for the lower ones. The final two fasteners, Phillips screws, should have a pilot hole drilled into the receiving part, as the screws will not by themselves cut their way into the plastic.
Now it's in our back yard waiting for the first robin to christen it. We agree with earlier reviews that it's a good green color, and we've not seen any other lawn benches in stores to match its sturdiness and quality. Money well spent.

LizHH Outstanding! Sun- & Windproof!
We ordered this bench, 2 Adirondack chairs, 1 foot stool, & a side table summer 2011 for our front deck, which faces south. The very intense sun we get here at 8100' has so far not faded the green. We just had winds in excess of 100mph from the west, & this furniture did not budge. The cushions are also great quality (wish they made one for the bench!). I did bring the cushions in for the winter because we get a lot of snow. Low maintenance & high quality. I will definitely be buying more of this collection!

Rated 5 out of 5 by NewportGirl Not the same as previous years
I now have four of these benches plus four of the adirondack chairs and foot rests. Absolutely no complaints about quality but the bench style changed this year and doesn't match those I purchased over the past three years. This year's bench has a curved top of bench plus metal rods imbedded in the back and seat. I am not sure how this metal will hold up in the long run. Wish there was a heads up that says "New Style" this year so one can be sure it will work in the planned setting.
