I like the looks of this belt. The leather is tough, however, and so far at least, it's hard to adjust. I'm used to O-ring and D-ring designs with heavy cloth belting. Those are completely compliant and cooperative from the git-go. But this leather strap is going to take some breaking in.

Stay away. By design there should be two finished sides but there's only one. Worse, to get the necessary length they sewed two pieces of leather together. Seam is right out there and ugly. The other negative reviews are right. Don't buy it. Misleading copy and made on the cheap.

I'm very pleased with this belt. The leather is high quality, as is the buckle. It is a very nice belt and I would recommend it to any one who wants to add to their belt collection.

This belt is NOT a single piece of leather. In order to make a high quality belt like this design the leather would need to be finished on both sides so that the part that goes through the rings and folds back looks the same as the rest of the belt. This is not what LL Bean did--they did it on the cheap, sewing two pieces of leather together, or really lacing two pieces of leather together in a butt joint with the two pieces finished leather opposing each other. Doubt this will last long. Additionally, the sizing is off such that if you are on the lower end of the suggested length you will have a very long tail to threat back through your belt loops, or you will need to cut of a significant piece of the belt. But to do this you will need leather dye as the leather has a cheap surface only dye, Overall a rather poor effort on LL Bean's part. Do not recommend.

by MaddyZ What's up with the added on piece at the end?
The description of this belt does not say there are 2 pieces stitched together with unmatched leather. Have been an llbean customer for 40 years and first time this disappointed in an item. This is only a mans large, not an xxl. Description should be more definitive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by tyhof Great casual belt
After a dozen wears, I'm beginning to break it in. Thickness, quality and weight is good. My only concern is the bulkiness at the buckle. Also, I have to do some fidgeting to get the right fit. I'm not sure if it will get better with wear. The leather is a hefty weight. It is the perfect look and feel for casual wear. I'm sure I will have it for many years.

The overall length was correct for a belt with a regular style buckle. Because this belt has a double ring style buckle and the way it's made it has to be long enough to cover the stitched part were the strap is turned over to hide the stitches. It also needs a loop on the belt to hold the "tail" loose end of the belt. It's about six inches too short

If you are a size 34?be careful. The size M belt was too short?and I was wearing size 33 pants. The belt is not long enough to cover the "rough" side of the belt after the stitching. Afraid the L will be too long. Plus belt is bleeding black all over my hands and khakis from putting it on. Returning. Not getting another.

Awesome belt! Got it in black. The leather is thick, the stitching is a nice touch and the buckle is solid and heavy. I'm 6'1", 200 with a 34" waist, and the Medium was the perfect size.
