Rated 2 out of 5 by varidian Fit is wrong
I am athletic 5'10" 180 and the shirt was a large but fits like an XL in the chest/shoulders. Also the length is longer than it needs to be. I thought it would shrink a little after washing but it did not make much difference.

I waited on backorder for several months for dark Elm. The color is not dark at all and is definitely lighter than the photo on the website. I returned it.
I have several others and they are OK. Fit good and color is good match to website.

Rated 4 out of 5 by bigredtruck Teen son
Ordered this for my teen son (5'10" 107lbs) in a Tall Medium. Unfortunately it was too big in the body. He likes the polos he has had in the past, but they just don't fit him now that he has grown. The color was nice, fabric feels great, but has to go back.
LLBean, please consider making some of your clothing in Tall Small size!

Rated 4 out of 5 by SpikeA2 Great Polo
I'm very satisfied with this polo. It looks good and feels good. And I particularly like the marine blue color. This is docked one star because the fact that this is "slightly fitted" isn't noticeable to someone who would prefer a slim cut shirt, of which there are very few polos available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by EarthWindandFire Great Shirt!
I'm very happy with the shirt. Being 5-9" and 180-lbs it fits well in the chest and arms. My only minor complaint or suggestion is that the shirt is about 1 to 2 inches too long when worn un-tucked. Maybe LL Bean could offer two versions, one of regular length for business-casual and one for casual wear that's slightly shorter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ProudVet Well Made BUT......
........ description should say VERY SLIGHTLY; this by NO means a fitted (athletic cut) shirt. Any positive recommendation would be based on construction only.

Rated 1 out of 5 by GymratGuy They changed the cut...
This cut is no where near the cut of the original trim fit they used to have it labeled.
its more square and the sleeves hang too low. For an athletic build the original cut was perfect. I am 6' 205 lbs with a 33" waist. The old shirt fit my arms and was so nice and fitted.
This is baggier and not at all flattering. it breaks all wrong on the arms too.
Please please bring back the old cut LL Bean!!

I have purchased these shirts for over 9 years for work. I love the fit, and the quality is good except for one problem. After about six months of wear, the seams on the banded short sleeve, rip and fall apart. I have read in past reviews ,similar complaints about the ripped seams. C'mon , LL Bean, fix these problems with the seams, and the rating goes to five stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by funnels watch the sizing
Be careful on the sizing - I'm glad I hopped on chat with support for the full measurements, because the generic size chart listed is not correct whatsoever.
For context: I'm about 6', 185 lbs and slender. I wear a 40R or perhaps 42R in a slimmer cut for blazers.
Normally I wear a L in shirts, and possibly a M for certain brands - yet the latter is if I'm going for a slimmer look.
For this polo I went with a M, and it is still borderline big (I don't do the skin-tight-shirt, either). I imagine we'll get some slight shrinkage in the first wash to tighten it up and is fine as-is, so I'll stick w/ the M.
Even still, this shirt is long - like, you'll need to tuck this unless you're over 6'. I'm just astonished this is a M - biggest shirt I've ever seen in that size.
I wouldn't say the shirt is particularly soft or scratchy. For $30, I was hoping for a bit more luxurious fabric given that there are several brands out there making decent-quality polos in the $10-20 range.
I'm banking on that my previous Bean purchases last forever and this was a gift card purchase for me, so I'll roll with it. Bottom-line is If you can nail down the size, you will likely be happy with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BusinessTrav57 True to its Name -- Slightly Fitted
I am 5'11" 175 pounds with slightly narrow shoulders. This shirt fits me perfectly. It's a nice balance between a traditional cut and the newer skinny cuts. Perfect for the guy who was fit/skinny in college and has now put on maybe 10 pounds, but hasn't completely given up on staying in shape.
Materials and workmanship are on par with a shirt twice the price.
