great for warm weather because they are thin, durable and cool to the touch. Waist is true to size (33 in). High quality stitch and fabric. Sizing: read about natural fit, classic fit, standard fit. This helped me pick the right size in the waist which complements the "natural" cut of the shorts. Natural fit is fuller in the hips/legs. Classic fit is more slender.

The fabric is heavy and fuzzy for poplin, but still light and dressy looking. The look is very straight forward and plain with only a watch pocket for a visible frill.
The fit is comfortable sitting, standing, and smoozing.
In Florida these shorts will make you look reputable.

These are nice shorts. Just thick enough to be durable but thin enough for those hot days. Comfortable fit. Long inseam but short enough for the proper gentlemen amongst us. I liked mine enough that I sent back another Bean style I bought at the same time to get another of these.

These are nice and lightweight...love 'em. Only wish they came in 10" inseam (I'm 6'4")...but I knew I was getting 9" when I ordered.

I was a big fan of the Tropic Weight Shorts, so switching to lightweight cotton poplin was easy. The pant does not wrinkle as much as the tropic weight and is just as cool. I can wear them for both formal and casual outings. It would be nice to see them made in a comfort waist.

I ordered these for my husband to replace an old, faded pair of navy shorts. He LOVES these. They fit very well, and the brushed poplin material is lightweight and soft. The length is also nice...my hubs is only 5'8" so he hates super long shorts that hang past his knees. This inseam works well on him.

I've had a chance to wear these shorts just a few times now, the weather has been cooler than I want. But they are great with deep pockets and of lightweight cotton. Just one caution, I ordered two pair in my size and are snug for now, I will use cold water at wash time.
