I now have two of these shirts - one in white and one in lilac. I'm really glad I found them. I like the 3/4 sleeve length. The short-sleeved really is too "puffy" for me, but these are great. I don't find the weight heavy at all since you are usually in air-conditioning so it's even more comfortable. I like the fact that you can also wear a tank top under it so it doubles as a light jacket. I'm about 110 pounds and I got the extra-small and it's fine. Had it been available in petite I might have tried a small. I do hang to dry and throw it in the dryer for just a few minutes when it's damp. Yes, it may require a light iron, but that really doesn't bother me. A good purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by LoveBeansince81 Can't iron seersucker? It's heavy? What??!!
I have bought & worn these blouses for years-I have 1 of every color-so I don't understand the comments about the blouses being stiff/not able to iron them. First, good seersucker vs. cheaply made "fake" seersucker: a good seersucker has a higher fiber count which makes it feel slightly heavier and stiffer than cheaply made seersucker-it has to be heavier to maintain the "seersucker crinkle" which is how the material retains its crispness in hot, humid, weather. Secondly, when drying, do not use the hottest/highest temperature setting-some dryers get so hot it almost "fries" the cotton fibers, which, over time, will make them brittle and cause premature wear. I use a lower temp and also take them out when they are just dry-maybe a little bit damp and immediately hang them &/or iron the placket so. (sometimes also the bottom hem). If I do "over dry" the blouse, I always, always, always, spritz the blouse with a fine water mist...to soften the fibers & allow them to be "flattened" by the heat/iron. I've owned my yellow and white blouses for over 10 years (they were the 1st colors I bought one season) and they look as good now as they did 10 years ago. My seersucker blouses are my "go to" blouses on days like today-when the temp is going to be 95 w/65% humidity. (I also own an LL Bean pink seersucker skirt and jacket-which ALWAYS looks good in the sweltering heat...and several of my co-workers and clients have complimented me on how sharp and crisp I look). Actually, over the years it's become pretty common for strangers to ask me where I bought my blouses/skirt/jacket-no matter what part of the U.S. I am visiting/living. On a couple of occasions, they've even asked to "feel" my sleeve-I understand that-a good seersucker has a certain "feel" or "hand" & people who know seersucker knows how it should feel. These are classics.

I love this shirt. Other reviews are critical of the fabric weight, but I like the seersucker in this weight and wear it often as a light summer shirt/jacket over a tank. Perfect for cooler summer nights and overly air conditioned restaurants. The 3/4 length sleeves add to the finished "jacket" look and the princess seams in the back make it nicely fitted. But it is still very summery and light looking.
I am 5'2", 130 lbs, petite frame, 34B. I got the regular small and it looks very nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by illinoisretirednurse Best shirt yet from LLBean
I was hesitant about ordering this last year from reading the reviews, but I need cool, 3/4 length sleeve shirts for summer to protect the skin just below my elbow where I had a large melanoma. This shirt is perfect! After compliments from my daughter and daughter-in-law, I ordered another. This is seersucker, so I expected to have to iron the hem and plackets. No big deal. The fabric is crisp, and yes, perhaps heavier than you might expect, but I've worn it in hot, humid weather and felt comfortable. The 3/4 sleeves are perfect for my arm length. The placket is set slightly off from the center back of the sleeve so that my elbow doesn't push through. It's not see-though, has good design and tailoring. Best shirt yet from Bean! Thanks!

I like this shirt, till it coms out of the dryer. I've never ironed seersucker, but these shirts are really too wrinkled to wear. i ordered three last year, and haven't worn them much for that reason. Bummer!

Rated 2 out of 5 by 36animallover fabric too thick
I purchased two colors of this shirt because I like seersucker material for its comfort and coolness on hot days. I was disappointed in the stiffness and thickness of the fabric but nevertheless unwrapped them and laundered them, expecting that the stiffness would work itself out. Sadly it did not and now I have two unwearable shirts that I paid almost $100 for (Plus size) and now cannot use. I do not recommend these shirts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by RealBeanLover Too stiff/rough
I ordered these a few years ago but rarely wear them. The fabric is heavy, stiff and you cannot iron out the curls in the collar or the bottom hem. The fabric is also very rough on the skin; dissapointing.

I love the cut of this shirt , but the fabric was just too heavy and stiff.
Not like the soft seersucker shirts that I used to have....this fabric was way to heavy. I washed to see if it would 'soften' up a bit, but no luck. Had to send it back.. I was disappointed as I loved the stylish cut and shaping......

These wash up well, are a bit thicker than others, are well made, and have beautiful colors. I wear these with the sleeves rolled up. Not all of us bigger women cover our upper arms - we get Too Hot. These shirts are not too short, which many, many shirts are now.
Why, oh why, is there no 1X, 2X, or 3X in SHORT SLEEVES or even Sleeveless?? I have a large bust, but in hot weather I Do Not want to always cover my upper arms. Maybe I will buy more and shorten or cut off the sleeves, maybe even make them sleeveless.

Had hoped to this item would be a good 3-season shirt for travel on the mainland & elsewhere but the seersucker fabric seemed too heavy & stiff. Back it went, unfortunately.
