Rated 5 out of 5 Stop looking and buy this T
I have bought T-Shirts from other companies in the past, I won't in the future. The weight, the cut, and the durability. I wear these T's daily and wash them regularly and they retain their color and fit. You can find T's for less and you'll get what you paid for. Stop looking and buy this T.

Until Bean tee shirts became "stain proof" they were very good. I don't know about you folks, but stains are the least of my worries. I want soft with a consistent fit. These shirts today are so stain proof when you throw them in the washer they float. In terms of the fit, they are inconsistent. Some are wide and boxy, others on the short side. It seems that different colors are manufactured in different countries, leading to a wide variety of fits. When they return to the old models they should be top notch. Luckily you can send these back.

Rated 2 out of 5 by jnsdelucia quality not up to Bean standards
16 months, seldom worn, and it went in the Goodwill bag.
Collar darkened and frayed and curled up. I have bought literally dozens of Bean t-shirts of the past 10 years, and this one failed the quality test big-time.

No problem with the quality of the shirt as it's what I would expect from LL Bean. The problem is that the shirt doesn't breath or wick moisture away from your skin. It's as if one was wearing a plastic bag. Very uncomfortable. Water, i.e. rain, beads on the outside of the shirt which is not so much a problem. The moisture beading on the inside of the shirt is a problem. I've washed the 7 shirts that I purchased, numerous times, hoping to wash out the stain/moisture resistance properties, without success.
Searching for an alternative, I ordered a half dozen of the Trail Tees but found them thin and clingy. Not satisfactory at all.
Please bring back the breathable Unshrinkable Tee without the stain resistant properties.

I've bought Tee shirts from L.L. Bean several times, always the same size (medium) and they fit well. I bought four recently and although the neck and sleeves fit fine, the body is really baggy and loose. In addition the material seems to be a lot thinner, and I don't really care for the new colors, especially the blue and green. After paying almost $20 each for tee shirts, I'd expect better quality and fit than the latest ones have.

This shirt is sadly typical of the lack of quality seeping into Bean's less expensive items. It came with dangling seam threads, isn't of the same heavy weight cotton as it used to be, and is no longer stain resistant. (An ice cream spot didn't wash off!) The tees I bought a few years back under this product label stood up to all but motor oil, unblemished.
I'd return the shirts but the Extra Tall's hard to find. Will cast my net wider for tee shirts next time.

OK, so maybe some people spill stuff all the time on their shirts and want some weird chemical coating on them. But how about a choice for us that just want a soft, absorbent cotton T-shirt?? These are hot and don't breath at all. My husband loves the old LLBean shirts I bought for him last year, but hates the new ones with the chemicals. PLEASE give us a choice! I've been buying your T-shirts for over 20 years, but am looking for a new supplier. So disappointed.

My husband wears tees mainly for exercise, and these shirts are terrible if you are sweating. The treatment on them (to reduce color fade?) makes them hold the sweat against your body - very uncomfortable.

The shirt fits great, colors are good. My only issue is with the stain-resistant finish. It doesn't breathe well and is not very absorbent. Perspiration rolls down the inside of the shirt and usually ends up in the waist band of one's pants. Very confomfortable.
I an usually very pleased with your products, but the stain resistant finish added to your shirts and chinos has become a deal breaker for me. Please consider not adding this finish to your clothing.

This is probably a waste of time. It doesn't look like Bean takes any of this information and uses it to improve there products .I bought five or six in various colors. I had Bean Tee's in the past. These are not the same. These shirts are treated with a chemical that seals them airtight. I thought after a few washings this stuff would wear off, but it doesn't. Try wearing a plastic garbage bag for an entire day and you will experience the same level of comfort as the Bean Tee's. Gave all of mine to Good Will. I think I know where the guy went that tried to reinvent Coke, he now works for LLBean.
