No one in the Northwest should be without these. I slip them on all the time and they work in puddles and wet grass just fine. Seems as if they will last forever, made in Brazil. On first glance these look like shoes, so are ok for informal wear (brown) On second glance they are perhaps a little strange looking... I could do without the bow, but they work so well I really don't care. I wear a 7M and these are loose enough for socks, but not heavy socks without a little stretching. Low cut enough to be comfortable for high arches, took only a couple of hours to break in.

These are a great shoe for rainy weather. My daughter liked my dark brown ones so much that I gave them to her. I have the black pair and get compliments on them. I wanted to order a brown pair for myself but the only skimmers right now aren't suitable for the rain. I'm not sure why they are discontinued right now - I keep checking to see when new colors will show up!

Almost every time I wear one of my five pairs of these shoes, someone compliments them. They're great for walking to work in rainy weather and sufficiently good looking to continue to wear all day. My only complaint is that the blue/yellow combo, which looks great with jeans, has not been available for a long time.

I have had my rain skimmers for some time and I just keep loving them. They have been worn to exercise class, around town and out on the town. The shoes sell themselves. Just by wearing them people ask me where I got them and then promptly go and get them. My sister has narrow feet so she always wears them with socks. The other day I wore them out to do some gardening and they looked terrible when I came inside. I just washed them off and they're good to go.
Thanks LL Bean

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ashevillian Not for me
Ordered my usual 7, shoe was too tight across the top of foot but too loose to wear without wool socks.
The shoes look really nice and are very cute...just not a good fit for me. Returning ASAP.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AnnaSP I need more of these!
Where are these shoes? One of the best LLBean products I've purchased in years (absolutely!) and now they seem to be being sold off. I just hope I'm wrong, and that a whole new shipment comes in with new colors and small sizes.

Wonderful shoes. Cute --- I constantly get compliments on them --- comfortable, well made, and practical. I wear them all the time, and wore them instead of boots for most of last winter. I have them in five colors and intend to buy any new color combination that appears, so I hope LLBean continues to carry them. Only thing to remember: get them a half size below what you usually wear as they do stretch, but then they fit perfectly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by downtownmom Soles not durable on black shoe
I admittedly am tough on shoes. I was expecting more however from the skimmers I bought last year. I wore them all the time and by March had worn holes in the soles. NOT very durable. Wish the sole could be tougher. The top part of the shoe wore well and still looks very new.

I read the reviews but liked the shoes so much I thought I'd play the odds. Unfortunately, I knew immediately upon trying them on that they were too tight in the width. Just walking across the house cause redness and rubbing. In their favor, they DO have an excellent sole for wet walkways & I liked the inner support. However, since this is the 2nd pr of shoes I have returned this summer & it's costing me $6.50 each time to return them, I'm thinking I just don't have Bean Feet.& should defer buying any more shoes til I can be in a Bean location to actually try them on. <sigh>
