Great pants, sturdy and well-constructed, with eight (!) pockets:
usual two in back, two on front, plus
two big ones on leg and two inside front ones (with zippered closures) .
I was impressed with how windproof the fabric is:
today had steady 25 MPH winds, with gusts to 35,
but with this fabric my legs didn't feel any sense of the wind.
Also, they look like they will last forever :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by JamesInIllinois My favorite pants!
World, meet my new favorite pants. New favorite pants, meet my world!
I bought the Allagash cargo shorts first, and I loved them so much I thought I'd give the pants a try. I am not disappointed. The fit is perfect, I love the heavy duty construction, and despite some of the other reviews regarding the buttons, I love 'em!
I will be buying more pair for sure.

As far as pants go they are great, but for LL Bean not their best.
Bought a pair last year and another a few months ago. They are comfortable, great pockets and look great. They just seem to fade and wear out quicker then my other LL Bean pants, but still better then other brands by far.
Hoping LL Bean works the fade and wear problems out before I need another pair.

Rated 2 out of 5 by OMemon Back Belt Strap Ripped twice
I love these pants but the back belt strap ripped on the two that I got. Everything else is great about them if you dont need a belt but I get a size bigger than my waist so it is roomier for me. LL Bean gladly returned them for me so I can look into somthing with more longevity

What happened to the idea of cargos being more of a relaxed/loose fit? These seem like they were well-made but definitely have more of a modern straighter fit, which I'm not into. Probably fine for the younger generation of men who prefer that look but too slim for a man's man.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Vibe 5 pairs and loving them all.
People complained about the buttons, they are great security features, you will get use to them with time.If necessary do not fasten them, the heavy flap will stay down and secure all items.Really these pants are well made and will last a long time, size was right on, at 32- 32,be patient and enjoy the quality they have to offer, they are top quality pants, forget negative reviews and buy from somebody else,i made that mistake, trust me,enjoy.People ask me often were i bought them,LL Bean will have a few more customers, and they will be satisfied, great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cosmo85 Great Cargo Pants
These are great cargo pants. The pockets are roomy and I like the security of buttons for closing the pockets. I wear a 29 inch inseam and these pants come in that size. It took me 2 orders to get a comfortable fit on the waist though. I've been wearing a 32 inch waist pants for ages. The first order of 32 inch waist was too tight. The exchange order of 34 inch waist fit perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Curmudgeonly Good pants, with a problem
As with all LLBean items I have purchased, these are a good quality product. I like the lighter weight, the pockets are large, and the fit and finish is good. However, the back and cargo pockets are secured with two buttons each, and not through a single flap, but an inner flap with button holes, and an outer, cover flap. This is problematic for me as I have hand osteoarthritis, so I end up leaving them unbuttoned. Would prefer velco, or a single button per pocket that buttons through a single flap for ease of use. The current method is more secure, but a pain in the...hands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RinPA Allagahs Cargo Pants
Bought two pair of these in tan and sage. Both pair fit exactly right in 35" waist and 32" inseam. Love the buttons instead of velcro for the pockets. Was concerned about only 5 belt loops as I usually look for pants with 7 belt loops to keep the waistband from curling and sagging when bending or doing other physical work on my job, but the well built waistband on these pants prevent any of those issues. I also like the gusseted crotch because of the increased freedom of movement. I wash these pants in an automatic washer with hot water and then just hang them on pant hangers to dry; keeps the wrinkles and shrinkage down. I plan on getting the asphalt color and maybe a couple pair of shorts for spring/summer/fall hiking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by squarefootgardner Awesome pants - for real work or students
My 6'1", 16 year old son LOVES these pants. The cloth feels great on and to the hand. It is light, but feels sturdy. He likes the contrasting orange button holes on the gray. Others might not. The belt loops are wide enough to take a wide leather or webbing belt. He is slim and they fit fantastically well on him. He measures a 29 or 30" waist by the tape measure. I bought him a 31" and they fit perfectly. They are an old-fashioned, traditional cut, so ride high on the hips (2" or so under the navel). For this reason, if you have a bit of a pot belly, these are NOT a good choice for you. If you are slim, they look great.
There are lots of useful pockets (they're cargo pants, after all). I had not expected the two zipped wallet pockets. Those are very useful both in the city, but also when you're doing serious outdoor work, rolling around, and don't want things to drop out in the dirt. Some less expensive cargo pants have many pockets that don't actually hold that much. These are generous and well designed so actually do. He was out working with the chickens and immediately stuffed them with tools, his keys, and his phone, and they took them beautifully.
All back and lower leg pockets are double buttoned. At first he was surprised that the flaps covered the buttons. This is, admittedly, more awkward than an open flap or velcro. However, they don't catch lint like velcro does. More importantly, it means that when it's really dusty or raining, water or dirt doesn't drip through the button holes.
He is thrilled with them.
