I ordered this shirt in my usual size - large. I'm 5'5" and 140lbs. The shirt size must have been mismarked because it was a small. Luckily my sister who 5'8" and 118lbs loved it and it fit her perfectly. As other reviewers have noted, the sleeves are ruched so they have a bit of puff to them. The material is also really lightweight and semi-sheer. You would have to wear a camisole underneath. Love LL Bean but this was not a great buy for me.

This poor little blouse took a beating in the reviews!! It arrived and yes,it is a bit on the wrinkled side but awfully sweet though! I love the puffed sleeves,a nice detail and different.There is an interesting gathered look at the top back of the blouse..,,there was only white left as I really wished for the violet rose shade..or blue...it is a little see through so one would have to wear a camisole under etc.!! All in all I think the design is sweet and the fabric delicate.I chose a size medium as I do have a bust line! We shall see how it holds up in laundering,it will not be placed in the dryer and I most likely shall have to touch it up with an iron, and I am not wild about ironing but it will take a quick press..all in all a really sweet,feminine blouse with good intentions! I pretty well shop only at L.L.Bean and feel they are doing their best with innovative ideas

I will start by saying I have been an LL Bean customer for close to 20 years, and am always happy with their clothes. However, this shirt is not up to their usual standard. The large is not large, more like a medium and after one washing, and I did not put in the dryer, the elastic on the arm puff started to unravel as did the stitching on the arm. LL Bean has such wonderful clothes, try something else.

I ordered this shirt in my regular size Medium. The slightly fitted description is accurate: it is true to size and best of all, there no gaping at the bust, which has been a problem for me with other button front shirts. The pockets do not accentuate an ample bust either. The puffy sleeves can be alarming at first, but after washing and ironing, I was able to tame the puffiness by ironing pin tucks at the shoulder and gathered edge. I may sew a few stitches to hold the tucks in place. I expected the "Indigo" colour to be a bit darker. A more accurate colour description might be "light navy blue", the main reason for the less than perfect score.

This shirt looked SOOO cute on paper but in person--when worn on my person-- it did not look nearly as nice. As others have noted, the sleeves poof out hugely. If you have skinny arms like mine it is extremely unflattering--really accentuates 'chicken arms."
The fabric color saturation is not strong in the blue version. It is rather muted, not vibrant & jewel-like, as I'd hoped.
And boy, does this shirt wrinkle. It says machine wash & dry, but even though I snapped it out of the dryer instantly, this shirt looked like I'd slept in it.
I do not iron clothes under any circumstances. (I don't own an iron, for starters.) Hence, this shirt must go back. I'm bummed, since the shirt looked like such a winner! Oh well--I shop at Bean pretty much exclusively & I'm RARELY disappointed.

I ordered this style last year and like some others, was disappointed with the large, wing-like sleeves. I'm learning though, to look at the sizing differently - I'm normally a medium. But rather than ordering in my 'medium' size, I now check the sizing chart and order according to my measurements. The result: this year I ordered my shirt in a small. The fit's terrific... and I love it!

Received this shirt (along with 2 others) just in time for one of the hottest weeks in NYC. Immediately put them all into the work week rotation. Nice, light weight, fit / cut well. Grab it out of the dryer quickly and no ironing necessary!

I bought several of these shirts last summer and enjoyed them very much. I ordered what I thought was the same size again and this year the fit is much tighter. I am returning them as they are much smaller than last year. I actually measured them against last year's shirt

This was the first Bean garment that I couldn't wear in my usual size. The fit was fine through the shoulders, but the body was so fitted that I couldn't button it -- maybe the shirt I got was mis-sized. The sleeves however did flare out considerably and wasn't particulary flattering on my body type. I also felt the small breast pockets were unflattering.
