Rated 5 out of 5áby KatKab Very nice pants
Bought 3 pairs of these pants. Very good fit. Adjustable elastic waist is very helpful. My son is tall and thin. Very hard to find pants that are long enough but not too baggy. These are a great fit with some room to grow. I do wish L.L. Bean would carry tall sizes in pants though.

Rated 2 out of 5áby bmc1129 Sturdy, soft, but loose waistband
I purchased these pants for my 6 year old son because he often tries to wear shorts, complaining that denim "scratches" his skin. Trying to find some alternate fabrics for the cooler weather, I tried these. He put them on and did not complain how they felt. As far as the material, they feel sturdy but soft. Not as sturdy as denim or canvas, but enough for a little boy. That being said, he has a slim waist and hips, so I would have preferred a better waist cincher than the rope drawstring. These pants are probably best suited for an average to wider-hipped boy who does not need to rely on cinching the waist to keep these up. In order to accommodate my son's waist, I had him hold the waistband while I cinched the cord as tight as possible (it doesn't get really tight by just pulling by both ends) while tying into a loose knot. The waistband still sagged on him while he walked, so I flipped it over itself and this seemed to tighten that area enough that he did not have to constantly hike up his pants when he walked. Hopefully as he grows, this will not be a problem. I might not have purchased these if we tried them on in store first, but given he likes the material, we'll work with the waistband, even if I need to sew it tighter. A better draw cord (maybe of nylon rather than cotton?), tighter elastic in the waistband, and/or an adjustable button waistband (like you see in so many other boy's jeans and pants) would have worked better in these, as a suggestion LL Bean!

Rated 4 out of 5áby Momofonecuteboy8 Expensive but great fit
My 8 year old son is a big boy. He is 54" tall and weighs 95 pounds. I have had the hardest time finding pants to fit him this season. Anything that was long enough was too small in the waist; anything that fit in the waist was too long. I got him a 12 and they fit him perfectly. There is a little room for him to grow and they are very high quality. I wish they cam in black, grey, and camo.

Rated 4 out of 5áby beautifulshopper Good pant design
Just right for the kid who doesn't like jeans all the time. Fit is good with elastic waist. Cargo pockets look sporty. Much too long but can be easily altered.

Rated 5 out of 5áby justyouraveragemom great everyday pants
My son loves these pants so much I am ordering a third pair for him. It is pretty much all he wears. They are comfortable like the athletic wear, but look like school clothes. I wish LL Bean would make them in larger sizes because he is only 12 but
is about to grow out of the largest size available (16).

Rated 3 out of 5áby ElizabethG1 Runs smaller than LL Bean Cargo shorts
I bought the cargo shorts and these cargo pants in the same size. Shorts fit great but pants run smaller.

Rated 3 out of 5 Length varies in same size
I bought boys size 8 regular in Twig, Clay, and Navy. The Navy are a full 3 inches shorter than the Twig and Clay. Waist, pockets, leg width--everything else matches except the length; at first I thought the wrong size tag was put on, until I saw everything else matches but the length. I'm returning the Navy for another color because otherwise I really love these pants: hold up well and have the pull-on-no-snap-or-button style my son prefers.
