Built for shorter, narrower torsos with cupped foam for a more comfortable fit in the chest. Generous arm and neck openings and high waist are designed especially for kayakers to provide freedom of movement and prevent chafing. Supersoft sculpted Gaia non-PVC foam has a trim cut with beveled edges for outstanding comfort and minimal bulk. It's easy to adjust for a secure fit that keeps your PFD from riding up. Made from 420-denier nylon for long-lasting durability. Two large zippered pockets keep important gear accessible. US Coast Guard-approved Type III PFD. Imported.

Rated 3 out of 5�by tominco Not for Tall Wemen After a summer of kayaking with a "unisex" PFD, I thought I'd give "the girls" a break and try a women's style. I am 5'9" tall and always wear a women's size LARGE from L.L. Bean. As this item is only offered in two sizes, I ordered the largest size. I am not flat chested but I am also not "voluptuous". I have an average sized bust for a woman of my larger than average frame. This PDF zips up just fine so it isn't too small for me. I even need to use the adjustment straps to tighten it around my waists. The shoulders include adjustment straps but they are there only to shorten the jacket. I found that I need longer shoulder straps in order to achieve a proper fit. The padding in the jacket has areas contoured inside to allow for the space "the girls" need. Because I am tall, the number inches from the top of my shoulder to "the girls" is more than it is for a shorter woman. The result is that "the girls" are missing the little areas carved out to accommodate them and are being just as smashed as they are in a unisex PFD. As with all L.L. Bean products, this item is very well made. If you are a woman of average height you will be pleased with this product. If you are taller than average, however, you need to expect to pay a lot of money and go to a physical store and try on numerous PDFs in hopes of finding one that was designed by somebody who realizes that tall women do not just have longer legs. I love the color!!! and reflective strips too. Pockets are a plus too.. I recomended this to my friends who are likely to buy them for their family. Its great. Cant wait to use it next summer. Hopefully they will come out with matching colored water shoes too. November 27, 2012

I have not tried it in the kayak but think that I will be able to paddle without the PDF slidding up around my ears! Thanks October 17, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5�by kdub Comfort I have worn it a couple of times and found it very comfortable. I have had my kayak out for 2 1/2 hours on one trip and over 4 hours the other trip. I never felt like it got in the way. I had great freedom of movement. It became something I really didn't think about. I purchased the green, and with the top edge and the straps in the softer grey it seems to help diffuse the bright color from being to much. (I don't want to have to wear sunglasses because of glare off of my pfd.) September 12, 2012

Fits nicely with plenty of adjustability for a woman's curves. Deep arm holes allow for no interferance with my arms while paddling. I am a beginner and do mostly flat water and tidal river paddles. Great neon color provides full visibility to other water craft to let them see you. August 16, 2012

Rated 2 out of 5�by ShibaRunner Great PFD, but... I received my PFD & it looks good & seems to be very well-constructed. I'm sure it floats great, given the thick padding in the front. The problem is that when I put it on, it makes me look HUGE?like I'm trapped in a turtle shell! I ordered the XS/S which is otherwise the correct size, but there's no way I'd wear this PFD. I'd be too embarrassed that it makes me look ginormous, and I'm not. April 21, 2012

It really was designed for a woman which is so nice since I have been borrowing my husband's for kayaking. I chose yellow which is nice and bright for safety. I would highly recommend this PFD for women. October 27, 2011
