Rated 5 out of 5 by GnatInTheOutdoors Excellent, lightweight poles
Finally replaced my ancient cross country ski poles with these excellent, new ones. They are an inch longer than my old ones, but are working out great. I like the cork handles.

Bought these when my 20-year old fiber glass poles broke. I ordered the recommended size for my height and they are slightly longer than my old poles, but are great in the snow, giving me good push when gliding or double poling. The cork handles are comfortable.

These are nice cross-country ski poles. Others claim that the poles "run large" and I did not find that to be true at all. I measured my old poles and the new ones were spot on and in agreement with the sizing chart for my height. The poles come to my armpit which is a perfect height for cross-country skiing. They are strong, light weight, and nice quality.

Purchased one pair of bare skis last year and the second pair this year. The CSR was most helpful instructing me in how to mount my old bindings. We do not get to "groomed trails" much so these are just what we've needed. After trying to ski with our longer "skating style" poles we purchased the Bean Touring poles--according to the Bean size chart recommendations--and found them to be the perfect match to the back country skis. Now if we could just get some snow!!

Do not trust the size chart. As other reviewers have noted, the ski poles "run large." Well, I ordered one size smaller than the chart said - and the poles were STILL too big. I think I will order poles for someone who is 4'5" and maybe then they will fit someone who is 6' tall. Geez, I wish they would redo their charts! There goes $6.50 in return shipping!! Otherwise, the poles appear to be well made. It just stinks that I have to return them because of a bad chart.

I bought a ski set for my significant other that included these poles.
They are very impressive, light strong, with high quality cork grips.
I would say they are the "gold standard" for light recreational XC poles.
You could probably use these in the back country no problem as well.

I purchased these poles as a birthday present for my husband. We don't have any snow yet this year, but they seem like substantial poles and he likes them. Still waiting to use them.

I use these for snowshoeing as well as x-country skiing. One reviewer commented the recommended sizes are too long. I ordered 130 cm length instead of 140 cm length and they seem ok. I'm wondering if Nordic touring poles are supposed to be a little longer than Alpine poles?

I was very pleased with these poles. They came just in time for us to go out on our snow-shoeing excursion. I bought 2 pairs; one for my husband and the other for me. They are comfortable and durable. There is one thing to keep in mind when you are selecting a size, This item runs "tall". I am almost 5'6" and I purchased the 135mm, which was the recommended size. I should have gotten the 125mm instead. My husband kept the 135mm and I returned his 145mm for 125mm.
