Rated 4 out of 5áby SWinston Comfy and just what I wanted
After reading multiple reviews, these pants seemed to fit my needs. I was looking for a comfy and lightweight pair of pants that I can use when traveling. I was worried they would be too long, but that doesn't seem to be the case for me. I liked the color, the lightweight feel, and I'm looking forward to using them this summer when the mosquitos are everywhere.

These pants were purchased, because of the Insect Shield. After a week of wearing them in a humid, boggy, mosquito ridden area, I walked away without a single bite. The pants are lightweight and a pleasure to wear on a hot day.
The waistline was large, but probably a result of my shape.

Rated 5 out of 5áby ChesapeakeBaylady Made to fit-Shortening the hem length
I was dubious about purchasing these pants because of the leg length as mentioned in the other reviews. I am 5'- petite. I knew there would be no trouble for the shorts as I wanted length there.
When I received the pants and tried them on the total leg length was about 7 inches too long. Instead of turning up the bottom, I tucked each leg up to the bottom zipper above the knee and used the zipper stitching as a guide to sew the tuck. Just remember to use the bottom part of the zipper so the pant leg will still unzip from the top part. Easy, no messing with the side zipper on the leg! Love the insect shield for sitting on the dock, kayaking, hiking and gardening.

These pants really keep the insects away. They do run very long though. Hard to keep rolled up because the material is slippery and they fall down. Wish they came in petite. After reading reviews on clothing, I ordered a size larger and had to return them for my regular size. My regular size fits great except for the length.

Rated 5 out of 5áby LLBeanBabe2011 My absolute favorite gardening pants
I already had a pair I had ordered over a year ago and used for gardening and ourdoor yard work. I am very sensitive to bug bites. The original pair got ripped in a way that will prevent me from wearing them in public which I occasionally do especially when garden shopping, so I ordered 2 more pair. I especially like the big pockets and secure zip pockets. I use the velcro deep pocket at the knee for my cellphone and know I won't lose the phone by it falling out. I still use the torn pair -- but have two new pair as backup. Wish there were more colors from which to choose. They keep the bugs off my legs and if I get too hot -- I can zip off the lower half for more air & sun. Can't imagine working in the garden now without them!!!

Rated 5 out of 5áby cg52 Comfortable hiking pants
I was looking for convertible hiking pants that had zip off legs with zippers at the ankle and were not too long as so many are currently. This pant filled my need perfectly, with the added plus of keeping the bugs at bay. They went on my trip to Seattle/Olympic Peninsula and were used in the rainforest. They did not shed water at all but they do dry easily. They appear to be made well and have enough pockets. They sit right below the waist and are comfortable for bending and flexing.

On vacation to Maine stopped at flagship store in Freeport knowing I would find hiking pants. These are great. With built in spf & insect repellent you cannot go wrong. Good for 70 launderings, wore these hiking Acadia , cool, comfortable, lots of pockets a great product for the price.

The fit was good. I am 5' 10" and for me the length was perfect. Unfortunately, the zipper on the legs to convert to shorts rubs. I am sending these back.

Last year I got a non-convertible pair of these to fend off ticks while gardening, so they're pretty trashed in the knees. I got these to be more presentable while out in public and expect them to perform as well. Would have preferred Stone color and NOT convertible, but neither was available. Fit is a little loose but I prefer that to tight in clothes treated with insect repellent. Have washed the first pair several times and protection has continued into this year. I have had no problems with ticks below the waist while wearing them.
