The model T of sweaters.
Very well-made with significant heft to this garment. I suspect it will be around for a long time. I do have to wear it with a long sleeve mock turtleneck as it is still a little bit itchy. Perhaps overtime this will soften.

I have to say that the Signature Matinicus Rock Crewneck is now my favorite sweater. I selected the oatmeal color option. Its great for casual dress and goes very well with jeans. I plan to buy another one of these sweaters as a gift. Great quality too!

As others have said, it is a great warm sweater with solid construction. Keeps the cold out. Plus, it looks and feels stylish. I get compliments on it all the time. I've been wearing it for a few months, and it has held up fantastically.

Good quality. Well made. Great traditional look. Purchased by medium-wearing woman; men's small a good fit. Wish women's styles featured these looks and colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ChugachMountaineer After 30 years, still warm and sturdy
My dad got this same sweater (in oatmeal) in the mid-80s and it immediately became his favorite sweater because it is so warm and sturdy. He wears it hunting for sheep in the snow-capped mountains, cross country skiing up rivers, and most any other time. He prefers just the sweater to a jacket because it is more breathable when he's active. After 30 years, it is still running strong.
I recently got one for myself. I have not worn another sweater that is so warm or that breaks the wind so well. The knit is tight, so it resists getting caught on things. The collar may seem a bit tight at first, but when you go out in the cold, you quickly realize that it is practical to have a good seal around the neck to stay warm. I highly recommend this sweater, it is not just a style piece, it is a highly practical and lasting investment.

I am a huge fan of LL Bean's sweater lineup. I have several Matinicus Rock Sweaters, as well as the new all-wool version of the Norwegian Birdseye, and a ragg-wool sweater. I will say that the Matinicus Rock Sweater is the warmest of the three, by far. Excellent fit, not extremely slim, not too baggy. I wish they changed the color combinations like they have in prior seasons. Even though the price has been creeping up on this sweater, I still think it is the warmest for your buck!

This is one of my favorite sweaters and I absolutely love wearing it and would recommend as a purchase. However, if you do clean this sweater either go the dry clean route or immediately stretch after gentle cleaning. Otherwise great product

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rooster26 Love my new sweater!
When I ordered I was a bit disappointed that the red version of this sweater was not available, but like the overall look anyway so ordered the gray and I just love it! My XL fits perfectly in shoulder, chest and arms, but is a bit bulky around my 34" waist. Still it looks great, many compliments and couldn't be happier. Will take a look and see if the red one is available now and plan to get it as well! LL Bean service and customer reps are absolutely the best! RR
