Rated 5 out of 5 by holley420 Quality Down Comforter
I purchased the queen size and love this comforter! It is wonderfully warm and cozy. As with any down comforter, you need to fluff daily, but over the night it holds its loft very well and is warm. The drop is just the right size for our 11" mattress with a 9" box spring.
Well worth the investment for this quality piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by beanshopper01 So glad I made this purchase!
For a long time I wanted a LL Bean down comforter, but the price kind of scared me.I had gotten less expensive down comforters in the past, and went back and forth trying to justify the purchase. I bit the bullet and bought the comforter. And of course quality was good ,but still I wondered if I had made the right decision.I did!! This past weekend, we had a winter storm here on Cape Cod-Storm Nemo- and I lost power for 35 hours. I was one of the lucky ones! My apartment went down to 40 degrees,it was so cold! But under this comforter, you would never even know that you had no heat. When I had heat, it was a comforter, but when I lost heat,it was a lifesaver, along with my Coleman lamp! My kitties were vying for a place under the comforter! This comforter is worth every penny!

Rated 5 out of 5 by WinstonsMom Quest for luxury and warmth are over
My husband and I were on vacation & our bed had a down comforter and was our best night sleep ever. Well my quest to replicate that night's sleep in warmth & luxury has ended with this comforter. I ordered king size (I always seem to get gipped in that department), I washed/dried it on gentle cycles of our front load machines and comes out beautiful every time just as the first time. It is a bit pricey but with my coupons it made it worthwhile. Ok, one last note; our labs sleep with us and now we're all sleeping in the lap of luxury that nobody wants to get up!. Thank you LLBean for such a wonderful product we love it, I just don't know why I waited so long!

I bought this comforter after looking at many, both on this site and elsewhere. I bought it because of the 34 five star ratings. Thought that because of the price I would be getting a thick, puffy comforter. I was disappointed when I got it today. It was very thin. In some places where I pinched, there was no stuffing between the front and back of the comforter. I had expected a puffier, more sturdy quilt. My husband commented that it was barely stuffed with feathers. I don't know if my expectations were incorrect (this is a "warm" comforter, not a "warmer" comforter), or if this comforter is truly too thin. I will return this and will keep looking around.

Like many others looking into buying a down comforter, it was a vast sea of information to wade through. Plus hard to compare, based on the variables of size, baffle, down rating, weight, bird type, 100%/or not. Purchasing one had actually been on the to-do list since last winter, but when the price ranges from $100 on the low end to thousands on the high end we were reluctant to underspend and certainly didn't want to overspend. The gaurantee from L.L.Bean convinced us to make the leap, figuring there had to be a reasonably priced comforter with good quality and at worst, LLBean would stand by it.
We puchased the King size for our Queen bed to avoid ever having a blanket tug-o-war. Also we purchased the Ultrasoft Flannel Comforter Cover to go with it. Together they have a nice weight, not too light or heavy. We are located in Minnesota keeping the house between 65-67 at night and this is plenty warm by itself even for the wife (who use to have a sheet/comforter/wool blanket at minimum#. I would expect that it will be too warm/heavy for Summer when the house is around 75, and we anticpated that it would be a seasonal cover. Though we may try a thinner/lighter duvet cover and see how it works.
The only drawback is there aren't any ties in the corner to secure inside the cover #this was noted in other reviews as well, so I won't dock the star rating or if it did maybe a half-star). If they added that feature, it would be perfect. Hopefully will remember to come back in a year to give a follow up!

I recently purchased this comforter after much research and I must say....it's the best!!!! I have slept so much better without the weight of heavy blankets....I hesitated to spend so much but now I'm wondering why I didn't do it years ago!! I love this comforter!

The only drawback of this comforter is that I don't want to get out of bed in the morning! I have never slept so well as I have since getting this heavenly goose down comforter. Not only is it warm and cozy, but it looks so luxurious on my bed. I have the Queen size and bought a beautiful Queen size comforter cover from LLBean in order to protect it. I can honestly say that this is one of the best purchases I have ever made and I've made a lot of purchases in my life!!! LLBean continues to be tops in my book and I hope this comforter comes back in stock soon so other people can enjoy it as much as I do. As an aside, my bed is a Full size, but the Queen fits perfectly with just the right amount of hang over to keep me warm and happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by thanh Wonderful..very, very warm
This comforter is so warm and comfy. I got my best night's sleep last night when I decided to use this comforter. My other comforter was not warm enough, even with a heavy flanner cover. I so wish that LL Bean hadn't sold out of this excellent comforter; I really, really want another..

LL Bean has lived up to their reputation once again. This is the warmest light weight comforter I will ever have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AnimatedAnimator Quite possibly the best purchase ever
This comforter is unbelievably good. I am chronically cold in the winter, and particularly so before bedtime. Generally it takes me longer to fall asleep due to being chilled, but not so since I purchased this comforter. It warms you up immediately, is breathable and lightweight (no more foot cramps due to heavy blankets and quilts). It truly is like sleeping under a lovely cloud of warmth. I anticipate it being too warm for year round use, but living in the northeast, it will definitely get plenty of use at least six months of the year. I've been using it for about two months now and have not found one single loose feather. This is an investment, but well worth it.
