MegKM Great for two dogs
I purchased the Premium Dog Couch in Large for my two dogs to share. They are medium-sized dogs, both around 50 lbs. and they both fit perfectly on the bed. They love the bed (even though they do look a bit sad in the picture :) ) It is easy to put togehter and easy to clean. I have the khaki color, which in neutral, and it matches everything.

LargeDogOwner LOVE THIS BED!
SO happy I got this bed for my dog, Epic, he absolutely loves it. So much in fact that he has no interest in sleeping on my bed anymore. Epic is a 75lbs Shepherd/Collie/Corgi mix and I bought him the large size of the couch and then a second medium size of the flat version of this bed. It is well worth the money to buy this bed for your dog, we couldn't be happier with it.

I was hesitant to spring for the XL dog couch but now think it's money well spent. I have had numerous dog beds for my two Weimaraners. Nothing was ever big enough for both dogs (70-80 pounds each) and one would inevitably get nudged off. Now, they both sleep comfortably together. The cushion on three sides provides a perfect spot for their necks and they like to curl up along the edges. They also don't chew it or try to rearrange it with their teeth (no thumbs!).
Of course, the XL bed is quite large so you need to make sure you have a place for it in your house. But then again, that goes along with having big dogs.

The pillows around the edge of the bed are good, however the regular mattress sinks into nothing in the middle. I am disappointed in the mattress and wouldn't buy this item again.

I purchased the regular premium dog couch for my 5 year old GSP to help keep him off the furniture. He went to this bed right away, the bolsters make it seem like another piece of furniture for him. However within 3 weeks, the loft is pretty flat -and there is no cushion against the hardwood floor. I guess i should have spent the extra $ on the orthopedic version.

This is my second dog bed purchase from L.L. Bean. The first one lasted 11 years! My 50 pound German Shorthaired Pointer, Dagny, absolutely loves this bed. Ordered large but could have ordered a medium. She can stretch out completely and loves to nest the bottom as its design allows and she uses the bolstered sides to rest her head. The color is so neutral that it does not stand out in the living room. My only problem is that she threw up on it and I washed the denim cover three times using only Tide but the stain remains. Since she's only two, I was hoping to get many years from the dog couch. I recommend this product but wish it didn't stain so easily. I've been a faithful customer since the early 90's and love L.L. Bean and this dog couch's design and durability will not disappoint.

Purchased this bed to replace a flat egg carton one as need the side as my dog lays on his back with feet against the wall. It was very easy to stuff, made well and he slept on it the first night with the next morning after his outside run he was back in it for a nap. This morning he ate then back to bed. My dog loves his new bed and I wish I had purchased it a years ago. The bed itself is soft and cozy but firm. I purchased the large for my Wheaton Terrior and it is large for him but gives him room to spread out, turn and rest his head on the sides.

I ordered the premium dog couch set for my black lab, and he loves it! He's 105 lbs, and the large fits him perfectly with extra room for him to sprawl out. I was worried the large wouldn't be big enough, according to the items description but I'm so glad I got the large instead of the extra large. This dog bed was well worth the price!

I bought the large instead of waiting for the medium size to be back in stock. Should have waited. This bed is more than large enough for my 85 lb. dog. If you are debating which size to get then go for a size smaller than Bean's suggestions that are based on weight of the dog.
I've had the bed less than a week and so far the dogs haven't decided they like it better than my loveseat. They do use it, but it isn't a preference. Hopefully that will change.
Assembly isn't too difficult, just a bit awkward - especially with the dog trying to sit on the cover. Having a helper would have been a good thing, but in spite of doing it myself it only took 10-15 minutes. The cover is a nice heavy weight and looks like it will stand up to any abuse short of the dog chewing it up. Can't blame the bed if you have a chewer. It's a great dog bed. The floor space it takes up is about 36"x45". Inside the bolsters is about 25"x30". I think it would be helpful if Bean gave both measurements in the description.

This bed is great, high quality and nice looking too. I would recommend however, making sure you measure the length of your dog while he/she is lying down because I went by the lb recommendation and ordered the XL bed for my 85lb lab and it is too large for her. Two labs her size could easily be comfortable in the XL bed! Needless to say, I re-ordered the large instead. I'm sure she will be disappointed when I put this one back in the box for return! We will be anxiously awaiting the arrival of her new large bed and I'm convinced it will be the right size. I think the bed is very well made and will last for the rest of her life. My sister had an llbean bed for her weimeriner and it lasted 10 years! Thanks Bean for the best products and great guarantee!
