by Sem38 Too small
The medium size will not do for my golden. She' 65 lbs so she's technically 5lbs over the medium weight limit but she likes to sleep in a ball and I thought the smaller size would be comfortably snug. She can't stretch out at all though so it'll have to go back. We'll see how the large fits her.
I thought the assemblage was pretty easy. You do have to read the instructions but each piece (4) has its own zipper so you can get everything in there without having to try to loop anything around a corner or anything.
I didn't like how the dog in the catalogue is photoshopped into the bed. That's kind of annoying. I didn't notice all the customer photos until after the bed had arrived.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BlackMagilla PERFECT DOG BED AT LAST! :-)
I have been looking for months for a good dog bed. My requirements where that it must have removable covers so they could be thrown in the wash, that you were able to buy extra covers, & that it has bolsters/sides because my dogs like to snuggle up to the sides. Also, it seems like all of the beds I have bought in the past that had sides would end up with saggy sides after not much usage.
This bed is PERFECT. The cover is sewn in such a manner that I find it unlikely that the sides will ever sag, I am so pleased with that! The removable cover is seriously heavy duty ... thick fabric, heavy duty zipper, quality construction. You can tell that it is going to stand up to years of washings with little wear. Also, the last few dog beds I have bought I had to fold up quilts & put them underneath the bed because the bottom of the bed did not have enough padding in my opinion. Not a problem with this bed! The bottom is quite thick & plush. I AM SO PLEASED WITH THIS BED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by TNMom43 Great Bed!
I originally ordered a small bed but exchanged it for a size medium when our dog (a miniature poodle) refused to even try the bed out. While the medium is a big large, our dog loves it and now prefers his new bed over ours. My only recommendation would be to pay attention to your dog's sleeping habits. If your dog likes to 'stretch out' and needs extra room to do so, you may need a larger size. I'm very happy with the quality and style of this bed, it's worth the price.

by 657jenni great quality
Excellent quality. They come with the stuffed bedding that you have to insert into the canvas shell. There is an inside zipper that helps to pull the pillow through. My dogs are 86 and 90 lbs, we bought one large dog bed for each dog and they have plenty of room in the larges. A medium probably would have been fine. Also they shipped to Alaska...bonus! I would recommend to a friend and buy again.

by RusMom The perfect dog bed
We purchased this bed 4 years ago for our 150 pound Great Dane. From the minute we assembled it, he loved it! The fabric is super durable and cleans up easily in the washing machine. The filler for the bed itself and the bolsters has also held up ridiculously well even after 4 years of abuse from our dog. We spent so much money before getting cheaper beds from the pet store only to have to get another six months later after it had been compressed flatter than a pancake. This bed is well worth the expense. I would definitely get another one, if we ever need to.

by Katernst Duke's Bed
Duke is 110 lb Doberman, we downsized based on other ratings and got the large premium. While I am very happy with the covering and bolster inserts, I feel the base insert should have been more than it is. We had another dog bed that fit under the center which has added the firmness we were looking for. Assembly was not a problem, got it on the third try. The side bolsters really need to be rammed into the area is all. From there it was a breeze. We will purchase another one but will add a memory foam piece under the base insert which would be cheaper than buying the highest model. Overall, a great bead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by calvinandhobbes Love this! Inside Out
I love this bed. More importantly my golden retriever loves this bed. I'm hoping that he loves it more than he loves to lounge on my couches. My golden is just under 65lbs and the large is almost too big, plenty of room for him to stretch out.
At first attempt, it seemed a bit precarious to put together, but once I figured it out, there was no issue. I turned the cover completely inside out and put the side bolsters in first, then flipped it right side out again, everything else just popped right in without issue. I was actually able to fit the insert from his old medium rectangular bed underneath the main pad to give it a little more of a cushion. Now it looks like its floating on the floor.
*Just flip it inside out when trying to insert the side bolsters and do them first. (the bolsters all seemed longer/bigger than the gussets, but with a little squishing and rolling they all fit quite well and gives it a sturdy and supportive feel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by loveourrottie best dog bed ever
I would recommend the Large Bed, we bought the xlarge and it is too big for a 103 lb rottie. However we have had this bed for over a year and its the ONLY thing that has lasted! Hands down a great bed. It is pricey but worth it! It washes great, but would recommend that you low temp dry or air dry. The fabric is very durable, and again has been jumped on, folded up, pulled and taken everywhere and it tolerates all of it well!!! Spend the money, well worth it, especially for those that have big dogs and need something that can stand up to the wear.

While our pup certainly prefers the (human) couch, he also enjoys curling up on this dog bed (his "barker lounger" as we call it in our home). After about a year the bed seems to be holding up and still looks well made.

Rated 2 out of 5 by AnnArborette Comfy bed, but cover seam came apart (x2)
I purchased this bed about a year ago for my dog and she loved it right away. Unfortunately the first time I washed the cover (using an extra-large, specialty machine) the seam between the bolster and the base cushion came apart, leaving an 8 inch hole where the bolster went.
LLBean kindly replaced the cover. However, upon inserting the bolster into the new cover, the exact same seam opened on the brand new cover.
The entire bed was then returned which was a shame because my dog really loved it. I do hope LL Bean will take another look at the construction and design of this product.
