Wish I would have bought this years ago. More comfortable than my bed!

Rated 5 out of 5áby Badyoga Medium is pretty small
Great quality and easy to 'assemble'. Like the fabric, very sturdy for my 'digger'. But the medium was SMALL. A JRT or weiner dog would fit but not my 40 lb cattle dog, his feet droopedover one end and his head was off the other. I'll exchange it for large, but think LLB should change their sizing.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Atomic Better Seam Stitching Needed
A great dog bed. Our English Springer Spaniel just loves her bed. She has had this bed since she was a baby. The canvas is rugged, but L.L. Bean really need to improve the stitching for endurance.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Shatzman Great, but...
We've had both the flat and bolstered therapeutic dogs for some time now. The dog love them. Our Irish Setter's favorite pose is to droop her head over the bolster. But cleaning the covers are not Eazy-Peezy! It is worse than the dreaded duvet cover installation on a queen-size bed. Three things contribute: 1) the natural friction of the foam bed against the cotton cover This is not an issue with the regular bed liners and bolsters. 2) the shrinkage of the cover with repeated washings...you have to use a heavy-duty setting to get the grime off, and high temp settings on the dryer are needed to get the thick (great!) cover dry unless you have a day to spend hanging it up or running back to the dryer to repeat a light drying cycle.
3) and this is most important...the use of a single zipper for removal and return of the pad to the cover. With last night's struggle, it occurred to me that what is needed is a zipper that extends across the back and around one side. Open it up like a sleeping bag! I just know that would work better! Think about it LL Bean...

áby Bkbirddog718 The dog sleeps in it, so it works and is good
I bought this for my hound a couple months ago and he has really warmed up to it. He doesn't always sieze on new beds with excitement, so I needed to let things sit for a bit to determine his real interest. He has a lot of beds (in a very small apartment) and he often switches between them, even in a matter of minutes. But he's starting to really move over full time to this one and hopefully I can rehome or toss his stinky mashed up old one.
My dog is about 50lbs and I got the medium; it's really big! I maybe could have gone with the small so he could ball up better, but he's snoozing in it right now and happy as could be. The bolsters hold up very well, they haven't lost their shape or flattened like cheaper beds do. The padding is firm but soft enough to be inviting to a tired hound. The fabric could be softer, but eh, this will hold up well to a nester and it doesn't get embedded with hair like softer fabric does. Overall, it's just as nicely shaped today as it was the first day I assembled it. I didn't find it any trickier to assemble than other large bolster beds, which isn't to say it's totally easy, but it's not unusually hard. I'm glad I bought it for my guy!

Rated 5 out of 5áby Walter2119 Perfect for old dogs
Our 30 pound 16 y.o. Walter recently received this large, sturdy, therapeutic bolstered couch. It's the perfect size for his medium size body. And me. I've taken a couple of 1 hour naps in Walter's bed. The mattress is very firm & comfortable, easily holding my 180 pound weight. The bolsters are very comfortable. Walter's a 'nester' and needs the large area to make his circles. He loves to lie flat and stretches out his entire body. At his age, he needs traction in his hind paw pads when getting up from naps. The denim fabric helps with this issue. The Bean bed is by far the best dog bed on the market. Our only regret is not purchasing this sooner.

Our golden mix was 100 pounds and we ordered the extra large. It is huge and we could have used the large I am sure. The bed is very well made and sturdy. The reassembly is daunting but not ridiculous. Two people can do it without much trouble/ you just have to read and understand the directions. Sadly our Buddy is no longer with us so we are loaning the bed out until we can stand to sell it or until we get another large size friend.

áby RetiredMSgtUSAF Quality Bed, terrible instructions.
Very nice dog bed made with quality materials. However, the vendors assembly instructions are terrible! I finally threw them to the side and assembled the bed myself. Our Pug crawled right in and is now snoring, I think she likes it.

Rated 4 out of 5áby garnet10 zippers inside help with the boltsers!
We have had the Premium Dog Couch for years, until my German Shepherd tore a hole in the middle of the bed by practicing her digging. I wanted to get the same sage green color we had, but the new "Forest Moss" color did not look right with our decor, so we had to go with the Burlap color for a more neutral look.
I purchased the memory foam insert for my aging dog, and the bed is so much thicker than the Premium Couch! It feels more like a couch, and she loves it (although she loved the old dog couch as well).
Well made and sturdy, as expected from LL Bean.
I'm glad I switched to the memory foam insert for my dog. Will be buying this version, the Therapeutic Dog Couch, from now on. One star off because I don't really like any of the newer colors offered.
And...I feel so foolish having never noticed the zippers on the inside to help put the bolsters in!!! I have been shoving the bolsters in for years after washing the cover!! That really should be in the description. My husband and kids had a good laugh on me for that one.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Socrates03 My Fussy Dog
I am usually not one for posting reviews. This time I had a funny experience and thought I would share with others who may also have a fussy/particular pup like mine. I purchased this bed last spring for my 12-year old goldendoodle, Socrates. He had an accident when he was 5 resulting in a spine injury and now that he is older and arthritis issues have kicked in, I wanted to ensure he had a supportive bed to sleep in during the day time too. After I assembled the bed, Socrates would take a sniff or two but wouldn't go near it. Over the next month I tried all sorts of tricks to lure him onto it and nothing seemed to work. After a while I essentially gave up and just had to laugh at my silly dog who apparently doesn't like change that much. Then one day in September, I noticed he was lying on it out of the blue (and about 3 months later!). I didn't make a big deal of it and just watched and waited to see his behaviour over time. Sure enough he gradually gravitated to it more and more. It is now his full time sleeping bed and he won't go near his old bed anymore. I can tell he LOVES it!
So I say this to all of you out there with picky pooches like mine to be patient, give it time, and just maybe you'll have the same satisfying result as I have had.
NOTE: One thing I should add (and would otherwise have given this a 5-star rating) is that just this week I noticed the cover has ripped at the seam in one of the corners. I bought LLBean because of the perception of quality and would have expected this to last much longer than 8 months of use so needless to say I am a little disappointed to see that I will need to get this repaired.
