by lopma95 Dog heaven in a bed
This bed is for our Lyme positive coonhound. Before we bought the bed he would have good and bad pain days. Since he got the bed, we haven't had a bad pain day. It isn't a cure, but it is nice to see that he's much more comfortable and rested.
In addition, our other dogs have been sneaking naps in the bed. So it looks like we may be upgrading their existing LL Bean beds to the Therapeutic bed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Bretagne22 Excellent quality
Each one of my dogs has one of these and really like it. Cannot be said for the dogs' owner who washes the covers and has to put them back on the bed. Did someone delighting in torture design this? They should be made to put the covers back as penance .
Other than that, it is of excellent quality and well made. But the insane cover situation would keep me from buying another one.

After performing extensive research we decided on the LL Bean bed. Crosby (our Basset Hound) is 80 pounds so we purchased the large and it's perfect. Crosby loves it and the fact that we can wash the cover (he's a hound so he's a drooler) and the typical LL Bean quality is amazing. We've had this bed since January (ordered it in late November for Christmas but was delayed because of problems getting the material).

Rated 5 out of 5 by BethanyCB This bed has everything I was looking for!
After extensive searching, I feel that this is by far the best dog bed at this price point currently on the market.
The features that I really appreciate are the waterproof mattress cover, durable canvas fabric and totally removable/washable/replaceable inner components! I was unable to find all of these features in any other bed.
Moreover, it's just darn comfortable for my beloved doggy!
In terms of size: my dog is 55# and rather leggy; the medium is a perfect fit for her. Thank you to other reviewers whose feedback steered us toward the Medium size, rather than the much-bigger Large!
From the first night, my dog relishes her rest on this bed and I can tell that it will hold up to her use for a good, long time to come!

by maggiellbeanshopper Very Comfortable!
We have a 14 pound miniature schnauzer, who loves this bed! We purchased the small size when she was a puppy, and now have the medium size for her, as she often likes to sleep with her head hanging over the opening & this allows her room to stretch out...
To keep her warm in the winter, we place a fleece like baby blanket on the bottom and a couple of baby blankets next to her. The high sides also make for a cozy warm bed. In the summer we line the bottom with a baby blanket, so we only have to was the bed cover 3 or 4 times a year...

by LabLover2288 Worth the money and our dog loves it!
We have a 114 pound chocolate lab. We were sick of buying cheap beds elsewhere that he would just tear apart and which would become flat after a while. We love this bed and he does too. It's firm enough to support his weight and he loves the bolsters on the sides to rest his head. Our biggest concern was which size to buy, but we went with the large and it's plenty big enough. He's ginormous (and still growing at only 18 months), but this bed gives him enough room and the medium would have been too small. If you have a large lab or similar breed, I'd recommend the large. We love the orange color, but can't speak to the laundering as I haven't washed it yet. We keep it covered in blankets to ease the washing process, and just wash those instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by EFM47 Great for older dogs!
My pup has never been a dog bed kind of guy. He has always had free rein of the furniture, but in his old age he's been struggling to get himself up onto the couches.
A few months ago I finally sprung for the large therapeutic dog couch. He uses it everyday now and I can tell when he is laying in it that his breathing is less labored and he appears more relaxed.
He falls on the lager side of medium, and smaller side of large so since he's a "sprawler" I went with the large to make it more comfortable for him.

I purchased this bed for my 12 year old lab about 4 1/2 years ago. I ordered the Large bed, which is perfect for my 70lb. lab. He sleeps on this bed every night and seems to love it! The bed and bolsters have stood up well over time and are still in like-new condition.
The cover on this bed is very sturdy but we just noticed this evening that there was a hole in the seam. I ordered a replacement cover and since this item is guaranteed, I will be returning the original cover for a full refund.
As other reviewers have mentioned, I do have to struggle every time I take the bed apart to wash the cover. This item has a very tailored fit and is sometimes difficult to put back together. Over the years, I have been able to reduce my re-assembly time to about 10 minutes. While this is annoying, I appreciate that the bed has such a tight fit because it is like-new every time it is reassembled.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for high-quality bedding for their pet, especially if you have a senior dog.

by RLL5 It's perfect!
Received dog bed (XL) in burlap yesterday. Had it put together in minutes, 2 people, not counting the time needed for the foam to regain it's shape , which was a few hours. Read all the reviews, it is big, but wanted it for both of my dogs. Great quality, perfect solution. Colt and Rellie love it!

Reading previous reviews helped me decide what size to get. We have a Boykin spaniel who weights about 35 lbs and he has plenty of room. We plan to get a yellow English Lab soon, who will probably get up to 49 lbs and think the medium size will also be big enough for her. It is excellent quality, very durable for those chewers.
