We have this mat outside . Color has held up well . Has a nice texture to remove dirt from your shoes . My only complaint is dry grass sticks to it like velcro .

We just got our waterhog mat and love it! It is perfect at the back door for grabbing water, grass, dirt, leaves and dog hair. My husband loves it so much he asked me to order another mat for the garage!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Dansker Slides around on wooden floor
This mat is nice looking but the major problem is that its always sliding around on the wooden floor in our hallway. It has ZERO grip power, which make it quite useless.

Ordered this rug for a busy mud room area. 3 dogs in and out. Originally ordered red in a 4x7' . Loved the color however within 48 hours it was a mess showed everything that touched it. Plus as it turned out the rug was to large for the area. it was returned with ease with the help customer service. Replaced by 4x6 in Camel color. It has been fantastic. We live in NC.. When there is an occasional accident (as one has with dogs) I just take it to the deck and spray it down with the hose. This product is beyond excellent. A little pricey, but well worth it. small amount of material has worn from the rubber we have had it for 6 months. Would order again in a heartbeat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SuzieQZZZ Love LLBean's Excellent Customer Service
Although I initially loved these door mats (I purchased three of them) they began to discolor our hardwood floors. LLBean's excellent customer service has provided a full refund.
I said I would recommend these to a friend - but it would be conditional. Be careful where you place this rug. It is made with recycled rubber and that seems to conflict with linoleum and hardwood floors by changing the color underneath.
These door mats are very nice looking; low to the floor so it does not interfere with the door opening and closing. We are planning to keep one of these door mats and keep it at the bottom of the stairs into the garage - a cement floor! It looks great and works great in this spot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by InfrequentBeanShoppe Impossible to clean
Maybe this mat is great for very wet shoes, but as a door mat, it is one of the worst because it's impossible to clean. Cannot get out pet hair, grass, or anything really, vaccuumed or shaken out of this mat. It attracts lint and dirt like crazy. Little specs of everything from our yard and every hair that shed from our dog stays on this mat forever. Shaking it outside can get large leaves off and you maybe able to pick off a couple large things, but all the other grit and stuff remains burrowed in the nooks of the rug. Thanks to L.L.Bean's good return policy, all 5 of our new Waterhog Mats are going back.

Rated 2 out of 5 by SuzieQZZZ May cause floor damage
We purchased three of these door mats. We loved how they collect the dirt from your shoes and sit low on the floor. They are also very nice looking. We really do love this door mat! HOWEVER, the rugs have damaged our hardwood and linoleum floors. There is some sort of a chemical reaction from the recycled rubber in the door mats and the wood and linoleum. A yellowish color has transferred into the floors. We are remodeling our home - which will solve the problem. LLBean is providing a full refund for the door mats.

I would like to compare the current version of the waterhog mats with the ones I purchased from L. L. Bean in 1995. The '95 version was an amazing product: a heavy, dense-surfaced mat that absorbed water/snow but would shed dry grass, pine straw, etc. with ease. I used to roll the '95's, take them out over the lawn and just let them unroll. All sorts of dirt and debris would simply fall off. We almost never needed to use the vacuum cleaner on them. In summer, we used to hose them every week or two. They were the #1 sanity saver in my house with respect to children, dogs, and the necessity of never-ending effort to keep floors reasonably clean. Fast forward to the current design of the mats: when my '95's had to be replaced (foster dog wet on them, smell would not yield to any strategy I could discover) the first thing I noticed when I unpacked the new ones was how much lighter they are than the '95's. The new version absorbs water well, but everything else sticks. We live in the South, so snow is not our top winter problem, rather it's dead grass stems. The surface of the new mat permits grass to weave itself in and no amount of shaking or vacuuming will remove it. We often find ourselves in the slightly humiliating posture of a suppliant: down on the knees, plucking grass from the mat ...

Rated 4 out of 5 by BOinBoston Holds up well: though color does fade.
I first purchased this rug (Terracotta) in March 2013 and purchased the same rug again Feb 2015, so I would have two in my kitchen.
I noticed that when the second rug arrived it was a bit more orange
than the orginal <(which I assume must have faded).
Frankly, I like the faded orange a bit better-- its more like a teracotta--or the color of clay pot (that plants come in). In any case it's worth noting that the color does fade a bit. I am very happy with the rug and it also feels OK-- even with bare feet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Hellie Not as good as I thought
Was very excited to finally order the Everyspace Waterhog Mat in Blue. Not as excited now, after receiving it. The blue color is much brighter than the blue shown. Kinda got used to that. Maybe it is because the rug is blue, but the rug looked really dirty after only a week of use. We had another cheap-o rug there that never looked dirty like this one. Vacuuming doesn't help and we don't want to hose it off outside once a week. We put it downstairs in the basement since it looks so dirty. Maybe brown would have been a better choice? Haven't even used it for the snow or rain yet. The reviews were all so great. I wonder of others have this showing the dirt problem?
