This is the second time I've gotten these for my kids. The first pair got the kids through a cold winter in Wisconsin and they look like they just came out of the box! I went back to these shoes again because they are durable, waterproof, and really cute.

The sneaker like Moca are comfotable to wear with decent tractions. I would have given a 5 star rating except the Mocs' stitches on the front area shows some signs of tear only after a month of normal use; walking & playing on the Playground. No Hiking.

Very disappointed in the quality of these shoes. Material above toe peeled after first wearing. This was a reorder from the same product as my little one had outgrown the first pair. Did not expect this poor quality from an L.L.Bean product. Returning shoes and will have to look elsewhere.

My 9 year old daughter is on her second pair of these shoes. She wears clothes and shoes HARD, so she rarely grows out of things before they fall apart. These shoes are the exception. She wears them most of the time all year long. I'd love to see LLBean change the color ways of these shoes up a bit, though.

Our daughter just loves these. She's worn them for a year now and they still look new (she usually rubs a hole in the toe of her shoes)! I love that they are slip on and the brown color is great because it shows no dirt. Used the size chart and they fit true to that size. Coming back to buy another pair!

I bought these last year for my daughter for a trip that involved a horseback ride and short hike through a tropical forest. Knowing it would have muddy areas, the brown ones were great. My daughter had no complaints so they must be comfortable. I bought another pair for this summer. My only complaint was the ribbon detail frayed after one use but it could have been from rubbing the stirrups. This is why I gave them 4 stars. They definitely kept her feet dry. My husband and I bought them, too, and were happy with them.

My daughter loved them the minute she had them on her feet. They are perfect for walking, running, climbing trees, rock hoping, mountaineering... comfortable, easy to put on for a girl who is always in a hurry to get out and catch up with her friends. These shoes will do for spring, summer and fall.... beside a pair of flip flop for the beach.

Having bought LLBean backpack, I knew their stuff would last longer. I wanted to try their hiking shoes for my daughter as we live closer to a peak and go hiking often. The shoes were very comfortable for my third grader, she started wearing them for school as well. she said she liked it because it is not 'slippery' . She meant it didn't lose traction even after more than half a year in to the school year. It held well unlike other $45 + athletic name-brand shoes which would lose it's traction after a couple of months. The shoe is well padded inside as well as it is designed for hiking use.
The only problem I had was with the bungie cord which shredded and no longer was good for tightening and I contacted LLBean , they gladly sent me another pair for free ,also a prepaid shipping label to send the old shoes back.
This year I bought another pair ,same color (kids?!) ,one size up, as my daughter refuses to wear any other shoes for school but these. The new pair had a different type of bungie closure ,so I guess they fixed the problem.(the closure looks different than the one in the picture).
5 STAR for LLBean's customer service ,They truly stand behind their "Guaranteed to Last" statement.

I enjoy these fun and sturdy shoes. Very kid friendly. Flexible and worn with ease and function. I have purchased them before and I would recommend them to other Moms and Dads.

I bought a pair for each of my granddaughters. They love them, & the fit is great. The younger girl is not a fan of tying her shoes, so these work very well for her.
