Rated 5 out of 5áby gdlnd Love this skirt!
I just received this skirt today and when I tried it on, it looks fantastic!! My husband even commented on how good it looks. It is very flattering to my body shape. I was afraid the size 10 would not fit me, as my waist is bigger than 28 inches, but it looks great and fits really well. I went with the hip size instead of the waist size and I am thrilled I did.

Rated 3 out of 5áby MaineMom63 Sizing way off and fit is odd.
As someone else reported, the waist is a full 4 inches larger than the size chart says that size fits. I'm not sure how the people who say it fits perfectly figured that. I even called to make sure I'd get the right size next time and was told that the actual waist size of the 10 was 32 inches, which is much more than the 29.5 waist that it quotes in the chart. So I got a size 4, which seemed ludicrous to me, but it does fit my waist. I'm still not sure that I'll keep it though because it just looks odd to me. It hugs me in the front in a way that is unflattering, and I am not fat by any means. I have a natural woman's shape. The fabric and quality of the manufacturing is wonderful, and the indigo looks just like in the picture.

Rated 4 out of 5áby nfrieden wonderful color and shape but very scratchy
I bought a blue one and loved it so much that I bought a red and blue one. Unfortunately the wool is really scratchy.
But it is the right size, the right shape and pretty colors

I love my Andover navy blue skirt - it was in heavy rotation through this colder than usual winter. However, when I ordered a second skirt in the same size, but another color, it was far too small. I could barely zip it, let alone sit down in it! Just to be sure that I didn't need to cut back on the calories, I tried on the navy one again, and it fits fine. The sable one will be going back, and I don't think I'll exchange for a size up at this time - I think the universe is trying to tell me I really only need one of these skirts ;-).

I consider myself pear-shaped (27-inch waist and 37.5-inch hip) and at first I was hesitant to order it because of the reviews mentioning the skirt would not look good on somebody who is curvy. However I love wool material and thought the color of the skirt was pretty, so I ordered the size 4 Indigo when it went on sale. When I received it, at first I was disappointed, because on the website, I thought it was a purple skirt with gray undertone. However what I saw in person was a gray skirt with pink stripes. I left it in the closet for about three weeks, waiting to return it to the store. But right before I did, I decided to put it on, at least giving it a try. I'm very glad I did, because it fits perfectly! I usually wear an Oxford shirt tucked in and tights when I wear wool skirts in the winter anyways, so I haven't felt the scratchiness of the wool while wearing it. Also the material is thicker than my other wool skirts. I have to mention that because of the wide waist band on the skirt, it would be more comfortable on somebody who has flat abs, which I have, but it gets a bit tight right after meals.

Rated 4 out of 5áby XS115 Waist Runs Large
I ordered this skirt in the black and white plaid, petite size 4. I am just under 5'4", about 107 lbs. and normally wear between a size 2-4. The size/fit chart said it should fit waist 26 1/2 and hips 36 1/2, which should have fit me. However, the waist was a good FOUR inches too big. It was a well-made skirt, beautifully lined with a quality zipper, and the petite length was perfect. (I am long-waisted, shorter in the leg.) I decided to have the skirt professionally altered. This added about $35 to the cost because the side zipper increased the complexity of bringing in the waist, but it is a beautiful skirt and now fits me perfectly. If you are willing to pay extra to alter this skirt, I'd recommend it. Otherwise, be aware the waist did not run true to the size chart.

This skirt is made of wool, has a straight fit, rides just below the natural waist and comes to the knees. All of this information is available in the description offered by L.L. Bean. After reading the copious reviews complaining about scratchy fabric and troubles with the fit, I was quite worried that this skirt might be a problem but I really wanted a nice, plaid, wool skirt. So, I gave it a chance.
Upon receipt of the skirt, I was delighted to find that my normal size fit me perfectly and that the fabric was just what one expects of a woven wool. I always experience itching whenever wearing wool, even of the highest quality. I have found that the lining in this skirt takes care of the naturally scratchy nature of the fabric.
Although I am larger than the average woman, I don't have any "problem" areas in my figure. Everything is in proportion resulting in an hourglass figure. I am taller than most, broader than most but not fatter than most. In my normal size, this skirt fits me just as it should around the waist and hips. For me, it hits a bit above the knees but, being 4 inches taller than most women, that is what I expect.
If you have a problem spot with your figure, thick waist, wide hips, generous saddlebags, flabby tummy, etc, you need to stay away from any straight cut skirt. This just isn't the skirt for you. If, however, your hips and waist are in proportion, be honest with yourself about your size, and you will be pleased with this skirt.

Rated 5 out of 5áby BKBean Gorgeous skirt
I love this skirt. It really is very flattering and the colors are beautiful. I initially got the one with the purple plaid and then asked for the Tartan for Christmas. I am quite pleased with both. My teenaged daughter liked it so well that she asked for one for Christmas too. At 5'4" with short legs, the petite sizing was just right for us. The only thing wrong is that the wool at the top of the waistband is itchy, so I always wear the skirt with a camisole tucked in and then a sweater or blouse over the top.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Tollerlover great quality, style, had to add belt loops
Like the above knee length ( 5' 5"), but had to add belt loops since I am between sizes. Wool is scratchy on the outside but the lining fixes the inside. great with tights and boots. price is high, though, and they never seem to have a good sale.

I like the skirt, and I disagree with some of the reviews that it doesn't look good on curvy figures. I am very curvy, and once I sized up it looked perfect on me. However, the wool is so scratchy! I'm not one to be bothered by that, either, but holy cannoli! The lining doesn't help that much with it. I'm keeping because I like the skirt that much, but those with sensitive skin, beware! This is NOT the skirt for you. Also, the regular length is perfect, if not a tad bit long on me. For reference, I'm 5'9" tall with long legs and a round tush, and I usually wear an 8, but I got this in a 10 in this. I ordered the same skirt (different colors) for my mom in an 18?fit her perfectly as well but I don't know her measurements. :)
