I love this skirt! I have recently gone from a 6 to an 8 sometimes so I'm never sure what to order. I went with the 8 and it fits well with just a bit of spare room. I'm 5'6" and about 125 lbs.
The only negative is that zipper as others have mentioned. It has to be forced past the spot where the fabric thickens at the waistband. I'm just hoping it doesn't break or back it goes. But I plan to wear it a lot until it does!

Rated 5 out of 5 by NebraskaCowgirl Classic Wool Skirt
I just received my skirt in the mail today, and it is beautiful! I purchased it in Cranberry, size 6 Petite. The size chart is very accurate, as the skirt fits very well! It is perhaps the slightest bit too long, but I am on the short side (only 5' 3"). The cut and style of the skirt is classic, which I love. I should mention that the dark stripe running through the skirt is a dark plum color, and not brown or black (as I initially thought). I am looking forward to wearing it during the remainder of the winter! Thank you, L.L. Bean for making good-quality, classic styles of clothing!

These skirts are so comfortable, and they keep their shape even after wearing them all day. Yes, the zippers can stick, but if one breaks, I know L.L. Bean will take it back and make it right.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jacqueline123 Beautiful but runs narrow and long with bad zipper
I'm usually a size 8/10, but the 10 was very snug on me, and wouldn't have worked with a shirt tucked in.
It was also longer than I expected, and the zipper has trouble getting over the seam about three quarters of the way up (even when not wearing the skirt). The zipper problem surprised me for a garment of this price!
But the black and white pattern was really classy - I wish it had worked for me!

I love the color and old fashion wool print. The only thing I found was the zipper has a difficult time coming up at the change in thickness at banded waist, really have to tug to get over the hump, so to speak. All in all I am very pleased.

This indigo color goes with so much- lavender, navy, plum, white. So comfy with my knee-hi boots. It stretches a bit when wearing. I should have sized down one, but it is OK.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Melannie Wonderful and colorful
The colors are alot nicer than they look in the picture. It's really easy to match with alot of colors, like, burgundy, turquoise, blue, purple, pink... and of course neutrals too. I really wasn't sure what size to get because this is my first purchase from LLBean. I ended up getting 10petite. I am 5'1'' and 125lbs, and on the curvy side. The fit turns out to be very comfortable, though it sits a little low on my hips... which is fine, especially after a big meal! The wool and construction is of superior quality. I ordered another and I can't wait! I don't find it itchy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by pinkbicycle09 Love it!
I wore this skirt for the first time today, and I can't get over how nice it looked and how spiffy it made me feel! I loved it so much that I ordered a second one -- in a different color, of course.
I'm about 5'4, and I first ordered the skirt in regular length. It was a bit too generous, so I sent it back and ordered it in the same size, but in a petite length. It fits perfectly now. So, if you're in that "gray area" between regular and petite, as I am, I'd opt for the petite length, if I were you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MOUNTAINGIRL1986 Way too short - why isn't there a TALL version?!?
I finally decided to try this skirt even though I knew that the length of 22.5 inches would be on the short side for my height. I was hoping that if I loved the skirt and there was a generous hem I could lengthen it. I was able to get this skirt at a great price and found the length to be excessively short but the fit and quality were wonderful so decided to keep it and have it lengthened. That was almost a disaster. LL Bean clips the inside fabric on the vent of the skirt so lengthening it is very difficult. I found a talented tailor who bailed me out but I will never again attempt this with a LL Bean skirt and would strongly advise anyone else against trying this as well. Why, oh why, can you not simply make a 24" version of this skirt like every other manufacturer on the internet? 22" is nearly scandalous for many people and your reviews seem to indicate that many others agree that the length could be a factor. I wonder how many sales you have lost because of people like me who simply click past the skirt because it is too short. Please pay attention to your customers. If you take the time to offer a petite version why would you not also offer a tall version?!?
