Rated 5 out of 5 by NYCBeanBabe One Great Buy!
It was on sale so I thought - I'll try it. Wish I had gotten two. It fits fine as an undershirt with no itch under a shirt and over a shirt as a sweater with wonderful range of motion either way. A terrific layering piece that doesn't over heat. Washes like a dream and I cannot lie, I just dried it like it was cotton in the drier. Did just fine. My only complaint is the sleeve ends get a little pilled looking when used as fingerless gloves. When it gets suddenly cold my hands aren't being scrutinised. LOL

This base layer shirt was a welcome addition to my winter wardrobe. Merino wool, no itching, not thick and bulky. I was able to fit a long sleeved cotton tee underneath, then with a Trail Model fleece vest and Primaloft Packable jacket on top I stayed toasty on the bleachers at football games and band competitions. Washes well, no noticeable shrinking. I'm a medium, 5'4" 140+lbs, size was just right.

The seams in my crew have flaps which create a scratchy feeling against my skin. In the overview, this garment was described as having flat seams. I do not call these seams flat. I compared the seams on my crew with the seams on the Cresta Wool Midweight 250 Base Layer long underwear and found the seams there to be flat, as described. I'm wondering why the crew seams are sown differently than the long underwear seams. To make the crew wearable for me I turned it inside-out since the outside seam is flat. It feels OK this way.

I took my new Cresta Wool top for a 4 mile run this morning and I love it! It was 24 degrees and windy. I used a wicking tank under, wicking tee over, and my new Brooks Essential Run III jacket (from LLBean) over. This top performed beautifully! I have sensitive skin and never imagined myself wearing a wool top. No itch at all. Kept me warm and wicked sweat like a champ. It did remain damp afterward so I had to get it off. For reference, I am 5'7" and 145 with an athletic build. Though my measurements are a medium, I often have to size up to accommodate my broader shoulders. This fit perfectly in a medium. It is not super form fitting, yet I didn't find it bulky with my other layers.

I bought the small size for my mother. It fits true to size, looks great, and keeps her warm. I'm anxiously awaiting for their supplies to replenish so I can buy one for myself in XS! Great price for a quality wool base layer - you can't go wrong!

I bought one of these shirts and wish I'd bought more. It is warm, soft and washable. The price is high, but it is a high quality shirt.
I've only washed it twice and hung it to dry, so I don't know about long term, but so far it hasn't shrunk or started to itch. I purchased the XS reg. I am 5' 4", weigh 110 lbs, athletic build and it fits just right. I will buy more if they become available.

Stylish but caused a rash on my both inner arms the first time I wore it so had to return. Otherwise fit was perfect and nice multipurpose top. Unfortunately I cannot wear this material.

Very comfortable, soft, warm wool layer. I like the overall feel. The neck line is just right, not too tight. I am 5'1" and petite. I bought size XS Reg. Just right!

I bought this base layer several years ago and as I had only one set, decided to order both top and bottom. I started wearing the new one so much that I decided to order two more sets. They are fabulous: Warm and comfortable, soft not itchy against the skin, and what I really love, they wick sweat beautifully, keeping me warm and dry. I originally used them just for Nordic skiing, but now they are great for horse riding and working in the barn. I even wear the crew neck on its own as a top, since it is not obviously an undergarment.
I wash them in a reg cycle with warm water and hang to dry. Wool takes a little longer to dry than cotton so give yourself enough drying time if you plan on wearing them.

I really like this shirt. It is warm without the bulk and not scratchy like some wool items. I expect to wear this often for working outdoors, etc. Thanks LLBean.
