Rated 2 out of 5 by WhooHoo2 Falling Apart
I've been wearing these wool stretch pants for seven months. They are falling apart. The wool is real nice but the workmanship is horrible. They are falling apart and I am continually mending them to keep them intact. I would not recommend that anyone buy these until this problem is solved !!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by coldinMass Shorter than before!
Got these maybe 5 years ago and loved them, ordered more this season and they are a good 2 inches shorter in length! (same size supposedly, medium misses). It would be nice to be able to expect consistency in the same product from year to year.

Virginia is having an unusually cold winter 2013-2014 and, to be able to walk my English Lab, I needed more layers to keep warm. I am so pleased with my first pair of LL Bean's Women's Cresta Wool Base Layer, Midweight Pants, I purchased another pair without hesitation. They do not disappoint. They are warm, soft, and non-itchy. They are not too bulky under my slacks. As we continue with our record breaking cold, I am happy to have them. Thanks, LL Bean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Booksandflowers Warm and comfortable,
These pants are perfect for long stays outdoors. I do volunteer work outside for three to four stretches. These work much better than my other cotton long underwear. The fit is good and on super cold days I just start with these as layer one and just add on. I 'm 5'5 and 140. The medium reg fits great. Plan on buying another pair!

Rated 5 out of 5 by AZFunSun Warmth without the wool itchiness
I bought these for a January trip to Yellowstone National Park. They were the perfect amount of warmth for walking around the geyser basin, taking photos for 3 hours, and getting into and out of (sort of heated) snow coaches to take photos for 15-30 minutes at various photo stops. They quickly wicked any moisture away from my skin as I never felt clammy. I was concerned when I ordered these that my usual wool sensitivity would make these uncomfortably itchy to wear. I've had problems with merino wool before. I'm glad I tried them because I truly felt none of my usual itchiness.

I live in a cold climate and put on long underwear every morning as a matter of habit. These are by far the best I've ever owned. They are extremely thick, warm and soft (no itch). However, the fit was not what I expected. I am 5'7", size 8-10, average shape. I ordered a size medium, but was disappointed in the bagginess around the waist and backside, as it creates a little extra bulk under my jeans. I tried washing them in warm water with wool detergent on a gentle cycle, which helped the bagginess somewhat but unfortunately shrank the length by about 2". I recommend these and would buy another pair (maybe in a size small?), but the fit would be more suitable for someone a little shorter and stockier than average.
