Rated 5 out of 5 by ONEYEDDIE Comfortable, soft, warm and a great fit
I bought a couple of tops and bottoms for a fishing trip to Russia and wore them every day. They were so comfortable and warm I gave all my kids and their spouses a set for Christmas. Nowolly itching with these. They are sooooooo soft.

I have heard it is not good to wear cotton next to skin when in cold conditions which is why I bought these. wore them for the first time today and although it was not terribly cold out, they did keep me warm. I appreciate 100% wool with no chemicals or other synthetic fibers. Washes well. Expect to have these for a long time as my base layer. Don't find them to be itchy as some have said. Fit nicely for my petite size. Would purchase again.

We just bought the top and bottom in Nov 2014. There is no way this is merino wool, my partner and me both agree the wool is itchy on your body.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CozyPants best woolies I've ever bought
These are awesome! I just bought my second pair. The first pair got a hole in the crotch after a whole year of hard use (hiking, backpacking, daily bike riding while wearing the leggings alone, as pants). That's longer than any other wool leggings have lasted me (icebreaker or smartwool).
I wear these almost every day in the fall and winter by themselves as pants, under tunics or dresses, or under my hiking pants. They are nice and thick, very warm and definitely opaque (no see-through bum!). I love the crotch gusset and the wide waist elastic. I also love the high waist - they stay in place very well over my hips.
They definitely run large! I wear size 10 pants and have pretty muscular legs and butt, but in these I wear size s and could probably even go smaller!
The only thing I don't love about these is that they stretch out as you wear them and get kind of baggy around the knees.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Vermontian Really great, run large, moms love them!!
I bought these for wearing under skirts, lounging around the house, and to wear occasionally as a base layer. These leggings are great, thick and toasty but not bulky and they definitely rival other brands' $100+ wool leggings.
They do run big, even by LL Bean's generous standards.
In the rest of the world, I am an XL. The L was too big, but my mother was visiting, so I gave them to her so she would stop complaining that my house was too cold. She loved them, wore them all week, and talked incessantly about how nice they felt. I insisted she take them back to Northern Vermont, where she'll probably never wear them because she keeps her house at a cool 83 (wood heat, ayuh). I'll pick up a size medium for myself next time I'm at the Beaner. This purchase was a win!
I'm fit & sporty, 180lbs, 36DD, generally a size L/12 at LLBean

Rated 5 out of 5 by MichiganLightfoot Soft, warm, and fits
Have worn these a few times and found them warm, not too thick or heavy, and comfortable, not scratchy. I'm 5'4" 134 lbs and the medium fit perfectly.

I bought these to wear under my waders when duck hunting. They also look great with a long sweater and boots, very stylish and warm!

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1Baker Cresta Wool Midweight 250 Base Layer Pants
I've been an avid cross country skier for years, took some time off, and switched to snow shoeing last winter. It was time to upgrade my base layers since they were very old and last year's winter temps were so severe. I read many of the reviews for these pants. I haven't used them yet. They are such an improvement compared to my old, only could be found in men's sizes, long johns. I'm 5 51/2 with an inseam of 28 inches. The length goes to my ankle bone which to me is the way it's supposed to be. The fabric is soft and fits the way a base layer should. I'm not looking forward to the snow and cold but know that I'll be prepared to be out in it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by alaskadogmom shorter than previous pairs
I live in Alaska and these are my go to almost ever day. Warm & comfortable. I agree with the one review that the last ones I got are about 2 inches shorter. Hint: when there still wet after washing pull on the legs to stretch them longer, then hang them up. Also I'm 5'6 and there short.

Rated 2 out of 5 by WhooHoo2 Falling Apart
I've been wearing these wool stretch pants for seven months. They are falling apart. The wool is real nice but the workmanship is horrible. They are falling apart and I am continually mending them to keep them intact. I would not recommend that anyone buy these until this problem is solved !!!
