Rated 5 out of 5áby BardbytheBeach Love this sweater.
Unlike a couple of other reviewers, I noticed no odor from this garment. The sizing remarks were spot-on though--I wear between a small or a medium (in sweaters) and the small size fit perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5áby modernist Great sweater
I have wanted a fisherman's sweater with a button mock collar for a while and found this. It surpassed my expectations in quality and fit and is a nice addition to my casual wardrobe. I highly recommend this sweater.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Uprootedtraveler Very decent sweater...but not as heavy as desired.
I bought this as an alternate to a light fall jacket. With a thick long sleeve shirt underneath it works well in around 35-55 degree weather. Unfortunately the knit is looser than I had expected and doesn't combat the wind at all (unlike the one this is replacing).
I selected the navy which looks dumpy on the website, but is actually quite stunning in person. The fit is slightly bigger than I am used too, but more comfortable for it.
Unlike a lot of reviews I never noticed a odor...even right out of the box. Maybe they all received sweaters made from the rear-end shavings, lol idk.
The buttons are plastic and I think for the price, should be real leather. However they are functional and look nice/real.
In summary this is a great, stunning looking sweater which is severely over priced. Pretty sure somewhere in Ireland a leprechaun is laughing at us...counting his money.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Bostonbaby Warm! Smells awful!
Quality, heavy, warm wool sweater. Very attractive and comfortable. The only reason it does not get 5 stars is the odor. The sweater arrived smelling awful. Strong, overwhelming barn, animal smell. Very unpleasant . Aired it outside, sent it to dry cleaners. Only now is it able to be worn. For this price I feel you should be able to wear it out of the box, and that is not the case.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Insuranceguy I love this sweater, comfortable, well made, great
First let me complement your staff. I had to make a size decision. I read the other reviews and decided on a medium rather than a large. The staff person also discussed inside chest fitting. He advice was right on. The sweater is everything I hoped it would be. After reading some of the reviews regarding the unique smell I am pleased to report that the sweater presents a true wool feel and fragrance. LL Bean truly represents quality, and service. I have purchased other items and i really appreciate your free shipping. I also trust your satisfaction guarantee.

Rated 5 out of 5áby jrward89 Looks great
Bought this for my boyfriend. Although it is pretty itchy he says it is fine with a long sleeve underneath. He is 6'2" 189 pounds and medium fits great. Actually long enough for him. Looks great under a barbour jacket, highly recommend.

Rated 2 out of 5áby French07 Pungent Odor, Itchy
This sweater is well constructed and nice looking, but not everything that looks good feels or smells good. The odor that others have described is strong, not subtle. It's hard to describe, but it isn't pleasant -a very sharp, biting, pungent odor that smells like it was freshly sheared off the lamb. The wool is abrasive, scratchy and would be great fro cleaning porcelain. I ordered this in white and while I knew it was not a true white in color, it looked more oatmeal in color than I expected.
