Rated 3 out of 5 by JPAwoo Order "Tall"; regular is too short
I ordered this as a gift for my adult son for Christmas. It is exactly what he wanted and I love everything about it--the weight, texture, features ... except that it is WAY too short! My son is of average build, almost 6' tall and neither lean nor heavy. I had the shirt shipped directly to him, as he is 2000 miles away; but he flew home this past weekend and wore the shirt. I was so disappointed to see how short it was on him; several inches of his T-shirt hung out below the hem. I asked him if he dried it in the dryer, but he said he hadn't even washed it yet. I so wish he had exchanged it for a tall shirt before wearing it, but he probably didn't want to hurt my feelings or didn't know there was a tall version available or how easy the exchanges are. This is a very expensive garment, and I'm sick to know that it won't keep him warm if it exposes his back every time he bends over. The sleeves were perfect, but the body length was at least 4" too short! I wonder if there is any way we can still exchange it?

Rated 5 out of 5 by ColdSkier Just what I was looking for
I purchased this item to replace a similar layer that had worn out. Just got back from a trip to Snowmass and loved how this item preformed. It's very comfortable, and warm. I ski a lot in the northeast and can encounter temps below zero with the wind chill. Bring it on!

I am 6'1", 195 lb. and 37" long waisted. I live in the mountain area of southwest Virginia and experience frigid/damp fall, winter and spring weather. The fit is perfect. The 1/4 zip neck zipper is cloth protected from throat skin, hem length is 8" below belt line (even though I am long waisted) and the thumb holed sleeves will be invaluable. I have not had the occasion to wear this as August is warm. Why did I buy both the top and bottom in August? Be prepared as Vince Lombardi said "if you are not 15 minutes early, you are late"

Rated 5 out of 5 by PeachMan Wet Landings Made Easy
Got this shirt and matching pants as base layer for Zodiac wet-landings in ice cold Bering Strait last month. The wool fabric does wick body moisture and remains comfortable all day under waterproof jacket, pants, and knee-high boots. When hiking followed landings, the zippered top opened to relieve upper body heat buildup negating the need to remove and carry it. Shirt and pants exceed my expectations.

I love the Cresta quarter zip base layer. I wish I had bought 2. My chest size was like 41 and I went with the medium rather than large and it fits perfectly. It's not itchy and makes the perfect base layer for hiking. I also bought the Cresta base layer pants. I love the thumb holes in the sleeves to keep your hands covered when you don't want to wear gloves or just don't have gloves handy. Very satisfied.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SasquatchBigfoot A Dry, Warm Base Layer That Does Not Stink
Since purchasing my first wool base layer from LL Bean a couple of years ago, I've become a believer in merino wool as a base layer. The hydrophilic wool is as warm as any of the hydropphobic sythetic base layers. What makes the wool better is that it does not retain odor and has a much greater resistance to pilling. I have several synthetic base layer garments. They all retain odor after laundering. And they mostly stay in the drawer. Not so for my Cresta Wool. If Cresta Wool garments were made in North America, I'd give them 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cyclist78731 Wonderful warmth, you will not want to take it off
I am a cyclist, and this was intended to be a layering piece. As such, it is quite nice and immediately replaced my synthetic pieces. I have now ordered the crew neck version to go with this. I highly recommend it. My biggest problem is that after the ride, I don't want to take it off, yet I feel it is somehow not right to continue wearing it. After a 5 hour ride yesterday, it didn't smell, so after my shower I put it right back on! I'm wearing it again today! There is no way you could do that with synthetics! Also, machine wash, hang dry. I did dry it at low heat once, and it did shrink a little but not enough to be a problem, as the sleeves were already pretty long! Anyway, you won't regret getting this item!
