Just back from a winter trip to Baxter. These are warm and fit my 5'9" 175 # body very well- medium. I have the top as well and use it all of the time.

The Cresta merino wool base layer is comfortable to wear. In my opinion, this product performs as well as a comparable Smart Wool product for significantly less cost. I liked my first set so well, I bought a second set.

Just got these in time for 0-10 degree test while walking dog for about 30 minutes along a open area of river side with wind blowing. Worked great. Have used Ebtex layer over last 10 years. Cresta are better and they are loose fitting. And they don't pull down underwear like Ebtex do. If you can't stand cold legs and like comforable layering go the $50-60 for these Crestas. My hope is that they wear and wash as good as the Ebtex.

I've been a merino wool fan for more than 25 years, but these are some of the best I've used. Really warm and very comfortable. I forgot I was wearing them when I took my daughter sledding up in the mountains.

Good quality, they are great for additional warmth and wicking away body moisture. Would recommend them.

If you live where the temperature hovers just above freezing, these are for you. Wool insulates even when damp and is breathable when warm.

I ordered these for my husband and he has worn them everyday since, about 10 days now. I did manage to wash them one night and he went to the dryer in the morning to pull them out. The washing instructions are to wash in cold water and line dry. I washed in warm and machine dried, warm. They did not shrink, not that we noticed anyway. They are not itchy.
Got medium for a 33-34 waist. He has thin hips and legs. 5'8".

I live in Montreal, where it was -20 Celsius with the wind chill this morning. These pants arrived last night?just in time for the first blast of Arctic air of the winter. I walk 45 minutes to work, and this morning, with these merino wool bottoms on, my legs felt toasty warm. Thick, non-itchy, great feeling merino. The fit is also true to size. I'm 5'9", 165 lbs and a large fits me perfectly, not too tight, not too baggy. Like other LL Bean clothes I own, these seem well made. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by kittom Wool Mbase layer
excelland product- wool is not itchy and doesnt have that wool odor-
as a base layer in 20 degree windy conditions- kept legs comfortable- became too hot when hiking at mile 5- had to stop and change.
Sitting around the camp fire in a light damp mist the medium weight was perfect-
a little baggy around the ankle . Im 6ft and had plenty of room.
Again- over all an excellant product
