by BrooklynHome Blue shirt collar frayed in 6 months
We ordered two, a yellow and a blue, and the yellow is still going strong and looking good. But 6 months in, the blue shirt collar--around the neck, not the points or edges--is worn through. We are going to try again with another blue one to see how it goes, but after paying $50 for a shirt, I expect it to last longer than this, especially considering how carefully we take care of my spouse's work clothing.

I love the look and no-iron quality of these shirts but I am sending three of them back due to fraying or splitting open at the crease of the collar and ripping open along the crease in the sleeves. I'm going to try getting three more to replace the ones I'm sending back as I hope that LL Bean has fixed the problem by now.
I have noticed several other reviews of those who seem to be experiencing the same issues so LL Bean has to know by now they have a serious defect in these shirts. I hope they have corrected the problem because like I said I love the shirt and like doing business with LL Bean.

Rated 1 out of 5 by PB57 fray after 4-5 washings
These are beautiful shirts. The fabric feels great. I've bought 6 of these or so. They have all started fraying after 4-5 washings. The university strip shirts seem indestructible.

I have bought several of these shirts. Always get the monogram - BUT they all fray on the collar and sleeves. I will say that everytime I send them back LLBean will replace them.

So far the fabric of the shirt seems fine through multiple wear and wash cycles. It has a button down collar so the collar stays down. The major problem I have with this shirt is it is always coming untucked. I have a Van Heusen shirt, identical neck and sleeve measurements, that is almost 2" longer in the body. That shirt stays tucked in and is a pleasure to wear. The constant re-tucking is annoying when I wear this shirt.

I own several of these shirts. They're truly wrinkle free, beautiful, and last forever. Unlike the previous shirts, the current shirt has button holes that are either too stiff or too small to fit the buttons through. I thought that maybe I could use a screwdriver to force the buttons through but then I realized something. I would have to call the fire department to get the shirt off!

Thick and properly woven, the cotton and overall quality is that of a much more expensive shirt.
Over time we will see.
As of this date I am thoroughly satisfied.
Good job Beaners.

I'm 5' 10" 150lbs and usually take a 15 1/2 x 34. This shirt in that size fits me just right. Cloth feels good, nice styling, bean quality.

Purchased this shirt in February 2014. After wearing it approximately 15 times, the buttonhole on one of the cuffs unraveled. After 5 months and perhaps 20 wearings, the fabric has split apart on both sleeves at the elbow. Unbelievably poor quality. Sending back.
