My husband likes my new bag. First time ever in 20 years.
I was so pleased. I loved it also.
I bought small and medium in red and in sail lcloth.
Just gorgeous.
A little heavy, very strong canvas, BRILLIANT color, the tartan plaid lining is really nice.
The brass zippers on side, and at both sides, great and all usable sizes.
I thought the small was too big, then I used it and it was just perfect
I love the strap so I can wear over my shoulder. Thank you llbean for another fantastic purse/tote/bag.

This is a great bag, I bought it in yellow last summer, now ordering it in red! I use it as a handbag, it works out great. Very well made and lots of pockets, the brass trim really adds a lot to the looks of the bag. Thanks LL Bean for your great quality !!

I hemmed and hawed about purchasing this bag for awhile, but am so glad I finally did. The quality of the canvas is excellent and there are tons of pockets to help keep everything organized. I got the blue color and it's brighter than classic navy and goes with everything! Love the bright brass hardware, too. I don't have to worry about treating this bag as delicately as a leather bag--it's so easy to just throw in the car and not think twice!
When it first arrived I thought it was just a little too big, but I am used to very small bags. After about a week I was completely used to it, and I love having all the space. It fits the daily essentials with plenty of room to spare--could definitely fit a change of spring/summer clothes in it if necessary.
I've gotten lots of compliments on it, and people cannot believe it's LL Bean! One person said it looked "very Maine," which is a good thing in my book!
The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the length of the strap, as other reviewers have said. I am 5'4" with a small build, and if the strap had just 1-2 extra inches it would be a perfect crossbody bag. It's just a tiny bit too short. For someone who is very petite though, I think this would work fine as a crossbody bag. I can get away with it if I absolutely have to, but it does look a little silly, so I just wear it on my shoulder.
When it arrived it was very flat, so I stuffed it with plastic shopping bags and paper and let it sit like that for awhile. Holds its shape great now, but also looks good slouchy!
Very happy with it overall--great look for a great price. Looking forward to using it all spring and summer.

I first got this bag in the medium size, which is perfect for travel and I hesitated for a while before getting the small, thinking it might be an awkward size. Well, my loss for waiting so long because this bag is awesome! It is just the right size to throw a change of clothes in, or a book, phone, wallet & keys. It has great pockets inside and out, and all of the hardware is good quality. It looks good full and also with little in it, giving it a slouchy appearance.
Since the first day I started using the bag it's been non-stop compliments. "THAT'S L.L. Bean?!?" people will ask, incredulously.
My only complaint, and this goes for all Bean bags with hanging straps actually, is that it is just too short to do much with. It's too short to be a crossbody, so it always has to hang from one shoulder. Give the strap just a few extra inches and this bag (and all your others) would be out of this world!

Wasn't sure I'd like the size of the purse, being that I'm only 5'3, but for the price I thought what the heck, it is absolutely beautiful. The size is right and has just the amount of pocket space I need to carry my cell phone and other small items. Love, love, love it.

I saw this bag last summer, and really loved the look of it. I was unsure if it was too big, but for this season I decided why not? I love it! It has so many pockets, and I have found myself utilizing all of them. I love that you can zip it all up so nothing falls out. And it can carry everything and anything. I bought the red, and I have received many complements on the color and size. I joke that I am carrying around a small suitcase, but it really has been very useful. I use it on a daily, casual basis, and I recently took it on vacation and it was superb. I absolutely recommend this bag if you are looking for something roomy and practical, as well as want catch people's attention!

I bought this bag in the wool tweed and plaid versions, and loved them. They didn't need mollycoddling and looked good stuffed or almost empty. Very comfortable to carry on the shoulder or across the body. A great travel bag and around town, more secure and weatherproof than a tote, with useful pockets for small stuff. And chic sporty looks, to boot.

Purchased a wool version of this for a winter handbag, and had to have the canvas (in navy) for spring and summer. The gold metal trim is very bright--this bag would be unstoppable if the metal were a more subtle/nautical/classic brass-look, and if the strap were longer to wear this bag cross-shoulder. The size is generous, yet, when the bag is not full, it hangs/slouches nicely. Very pleased.

I love this bag. It arrived today and much to my expectations, it was the quality expected in an LLBean product. I love canvas bags and I was hoping to use this one as my Spring/Summer bag. I love the print. I love that it's not a light color summer bag that would get dirty... I carry a large purse and I prefer larger bags, so this smaller bag, is still big enough to carry all my typical everyday stuff, and it has a shoulder strap too. It's a duffle, so it's not too structured and I like that in a bag too. I think it's too pretty to use as a gym bag so again, I will proudly use it everyday this summer!

I use this as my gym and yoga bag. Side pockets and interior pockets are great for locker lock, measuring tape, extra hair things and hold my jewlery in place while I work out. There is a lot of room in there.
The bag holds my sneakers and clothes, etc nicely but would be kind of small for an overnight bag. I got the yellow and get tons of complements!!! Classic with a flair!
