I bought this because I go on long walks with my 2 large dogs. I needed a bag to carry water for me and the dogs, keys, a small snack, and treats for them. Feels comfortable on my lower back. Very stylish too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by sj2gold great pack
the main compartment is not as large as I would like. But, other than that, this lumbar pack is well made and feels well balanced and cushioned when worn.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Walt8103 Belt Pockets are a good addition, but
The pockets on the belt are great, but should be changed so that the stuff don?t slip out of them when you take the pack off. I lost a pocket camera that I had in the belt pocket. There should be a way to lock the pocket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by IAMALLBEANFAN Love this pack!!
I have been using this for not only for hiking, but when my husband and I go for rides on the motorcycle. It is awesome pack to use. I pack snacks and drinks for the day and it is great. I bought the blue one( had many compliments from others ) and it may seem bulky at first, but rest assured, it comes in handy and the best investment far as multiuser item. I also use it when I take my grandchildren to the park or outings with them. Enough to put my wallet, their spare pull-upsand snacks for them as well. If you are as busy I am this is a blessing!

flasheroo Super Multifunctional Pack
Owned it about a year now, during that time I have made it my lite day pack/scout bushcraft pack. Shows no wear after over a year of casual use.
It took me some time to learn all the adjustment points available there are about 8 and once you adjust to your body shape it stays nice and tight.
I can see where some people who are petite might not be able to cinch it tight but make sure you use all the adjusters first.
OK so this has now become my favorite day pack and for good reason too. I can stuff a poncho, small machete, saw, tarp, 2 stainless water bottles, small cook kit, tinder material fire steel. water filter and much more into this My 5 C's are covered with room for extra layers and first aid kit compass etc...
I purchased the orange and if I did it again would go with a different color because the orange really stands out and sometimes you want to blend in. My thinking was for hiking during hunting season but an orange bandana covers that.
The shoulder strap becomes a little uncomfortable during longer hikes and needs adjustment to get just right and more padding would be welcome..
The stuff mesh is great for holding doggy bags for cleanup or gathering tinder a buff, bandana ,gloves.
Nothing negative to say about it really. Finding a pack is not so easy to do but I am happy with it. I'm 6'2' 225lb and it works great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by LuvToWander Too much for me
As I have come to count on with LL Bean products, the quality and functionality is great. I got this because it could be carried like a shoulder bag. I wore it around the house for a bit and used the shoulder strap, but it is just too big for my needs. What I REALLY would like is the Trail 125 Lumbar Pack that has a water bottle pocket and the convertible shoulder strap. Any takers equipment designers?

Rated 5 out of 5 by Vcudds12 Nice pack
Im planning to use the pack when I fish and it has everything I was looking for. Can fit two big storage boxes, has two nonslip beverage holders, sleeve for an extra shirt or towel, and very light and comfortable. Can't wait to get it on the river, another great Bean purchase!

Rated 3 out of 5 by LLBeanShopper1199 not for small waists/hips
I purchased this lumbar pack to use when I walk my dogs(5). I was looking for something to hold leashes, treats, camera, ipod, and especially 2 bean canteens. This pouch slides right off my body, even when the belt is tightened to the max. Water bottles also slip out when I am running or bend over. It has 2 main pockets with no sort of compartments on the inside, so everything is just a mess when I reach inside. I still use this pouch daily, but if it didnt cost so much for duty and taxes it would have been returned. I am quite disappointed in this product for the simple fact that it was not designed for a smaller womans build.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ZbSKRN Day Trekker Lumbar Pack
The Day Trekker Lumbar Pack is god as a over the shoulder or carry bag but it is unusable as a lumbar pack because there is no way to keep the lumbar straps tight short of tying them in a knot. Wouldn't recommend this pack for hiking.
