Rated 4 out of 5 by KidneeBene Much Better than I thought it would be
As always Bean shipped it quickly and the packaging was good.
Pros: * i can fit 2 12oz drinks and protein bars, wallet, keys, etc. * at the point it rests on the lower back looks like a moisture barrier - good idea. * straps are sewn into larger wedge shaped pieces before being secured to the waistpack - this resists the tendency for an overloaded pack to twist over or feel like its going to twist.
Cons: *the straps are thin webbing which makes it easy to loosen if you pull the buckle away from you. tension must be sideways for the thin straps to hold.
Glad I purchased this. Once I understood how to work with the thin strap it performed very well on my 1st two short hikes. Would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for having to work the strap.

Rated 1 out of 5 by BigJim Too hard to unzip and not comforable
The width of the band is too wide because it is not comfortable around you waist.
Like secret pockets
The zippers are too hard to open. You have to flip up the covering over the zipper to unzip it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by casualmom2013 Great quality, but bulky
I bought this waist pack to replace carrying a shoulder purse when our family takes trips to zoos, museums, etc. We have long enjoyed the quality and durability of LLBean backpacks, and this waist pack was equally well made. The Coastal Blue color is very nice, the pockets are well proportioned and the zippers and key hook are well placed. There is also a nice layer of padding on the back side, which I'm sure provides some added comfort against your back; however, I typically want my waist pack in the front where I have easy access to necessities. This pack is not designed to use in front, and the sturdy construction makes it bulky and non-conforming to your front side. I wasn't comfortable wearing it against my back either, because the weight of the contents makes the strap pull at my stomach and doesn't do my figure any favors. I decided to return it and look for something a little less bulky that is designed to use in the front.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Laz007 Great fit!
Has exceeded my expectations as I am able to fit a lot of stuff in the pouch including a water bottle for those short hikes. You can't beat the value.

Rated 4 out of 5 by NHRetired Roomy Lumbar Pack
This lumbar pack has lots of room. It is made of quality material. My one complaint is that one of the clips on the belt has come off the belt on two occasions when it has been unclipped. It is nice and snug when I am wearing it though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Haiti Great Fit
This fanny pack was just the right size for my trip to Haiti. I was able to put my passport, wallets, tissues, and other misc, as well as my camera in it. I was able to pull out my camera out without worrying that other essential items would be pulled out, with it.. This was a concern for me, but I had extra room in the fanny pack. I can't wait to take with me next year to Haiti! Thanks.

It is way too small for the things I wish to carry. Will be returning ASAP!

Rated 5 out of 5 by 3503 Exactly what I was hoping for
I was looking for a small waist pack to replace an older one that I've been using for years (and is showing undue wear). This pack fit the need perfectly. It's big enough to hold a 7" tablet, a small notebook, a compact umbrella and a few other things that I like to bring along on a long walk or longish bike ride, but small enough to stay out of way. The padding is a really nice touch, as it allows air to get to my back and keeps sweat away from the pack itself. So are the small elastic loops, which allow me to hang a small camera case and water bottle where I can get to them.
