This lantern was a lifesaver during several storms. I live in the northeast and have lost power too many times to count over the past couple years. I hang it in a convenient spot and its always there waiting! Best lantern ever.

We bought it for emergency use when electricity goes out, also on the deck in summer. We love it. Being able to control the light from dim to very bright is extremely useful. We now have two lights..

My son loves this lantern, wanting to using it in his bedroom after lights out. Lightweight, easy to change batteries, and just right dimming switch. Great product!

Recently went without electricity from Hurricane Sandy. I wish I would of had this then. It was recommended to me by a friend and I decided to try it. What a good lantern! Thank you LL Bean for your prompt shipping and delivery. I'll never be caught in the dark again.

I ordered this prior to Hurricane Sandy and UPS actually delivered the next day (when we were in the dark). This small lantern produces amazing bright light that you can read by or dial back for ambiance. But, note, it actually doesn't last 10 full nights, merely 40 hours (so the box says). So be prepared to have extra batteries on hand for long outages. Also, since D batteries are the most valuable during hurricanes, make sure you get lots of them prior to the outage, because you won't be able to find them after the power goes out. I like that the lantern is light and easy to swap out batteries.

I ordered this lantern during Hurricane Sandy anticipating a power outage in our area. The power didn't go out then, but we feel much better having the lantern for when we do lose power. We have used the lantern to light our sidewalk at night for guests and to find our way to the mailbox when our mail came after dark. Would highly recommend the lantern.

I ordered two of these lanterns. One for my daughter and one for me. They just arrived, and I am so thrilled with them, I decided to keep both! Ony 4 D batteries and I couldn't be more pleased with the light they cast. Now I am ordering two more; one for my daughter and one for my son. What a great Christmas gift! They are light weight and very good looking. When I took them out of the box I thought they were awfully small to be of any use, but was I surprised. LLBean, you did it again.

This lantern was excellent. Used it when hurricane Sandy came to Atlantic City. No electric for 5 days but this latern was great, now sitting through the northeastern. So far so good. I will certainly order more as it is a GREAT product.

This is one great product! I purchased it a year ago after Irene. I have used it for brief times at a camper. 'Sandy', however, was the super test! We were out of power for 6 days and this mightly little lantern stayed with us with battery power left over on the original batteries. It is great to have a product that does what it advertises - Thank you L.L. Bean! Will order more when they are back in stock.
