The pros: the fit is perfect. Not constricting slim like other makes, just a roomy modern/ classic cut.
The cons: unless you want to use a bottle of spray starch, there is no way this shirt holds up to true oxford cloth quality or shape. It has the feel of a well worn t shirt, which is great for weekends, not so much for the office. I don't see this shirt holding up, after 4 washes I'm already experiencing pilling. It is a shame because I was hoping desperately for a shirt to have LL Bean quality with with a more modern fit.
I wish LL Bean Classic Oxfords had this fit as an option.

I've been buying LL Bean shirts for years - Oxford cloth and more casual - thought I would try the Signature line since I only can wear trim fit - it was a big disappointment - cloth lower quality, lighter weight - price higher - I won't buy more Signature items

Rated 2 out of 5 by Snausages Nice looking shirt; a bit flimsy
I received this shirt as a Christmas gift. Consistent with most Signature items, this has a much trimmer and more modern fit that mainline LL Bean items, something I quite like. That does, however, carry over to the collar, which is quite small and is not going to support a tie, if you're going for a traditional Ivy League look with a sportcoat.
The fabric is wonderfully soft and comfortable, if a bit thin. The construction is not great, as the stitching is weak. Mine has developed a hole in the armpit after just five or six wears and half as many washes -- the fabric hasn't ripped, just a 1 inch long section of stitching has come out.
It's a solid looking shirt in a decent fabric for the price, but the construction leaves a bit to be desired.

Own these in several colors. Been collecting these since Signature was released. Really soft shirt and breathable. Just ordered another one...liked the color Fire very much. Thanks again!

I love this shirt. I own several--solid, stripe, and plaid. The material is soft and the construction is solid. It feels high quality. I like the style of contrast stitching on the solid blue version. I wear them socially and for office casual.
I'm 6'0, 165. The medium fits me well. I usually wear a 15 1/2 - 32/33 slim fitting dress shirt.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Josh1978 Fit information is misleading. This is quite boxy.
The fabric, stitching, buttons are all nice and I'm impressed with the quality for the price. I think it's misleading that this is marketed as a slim fit. There is no taper at the waist and it is quite roomy throughout. I ordered a large, I'm 6'2, about 210 pound and it fits like a dress. I may exchange for a medium but think the neck and shoulders may be tight if I size down. This is vanity sizing out of control--a frustrating issue especially considering that LL Bean doesn't offer free return shipping.

I really like this shirt. I prefer my clothes to be more fitted so I love that LL Bean has slim fit clothes rather than their traditional looser fit clothing.
The shirt was very soft and the color (cayenne) was excellent. Overall, I'm very satisfied and I'll be wearing this shirt for years.

This shirt is extremely soft to the touch and comfortable. I love how it is laid back but still has a semi-formal look. It fits well, but not perfect on me. I am 5'10 and slim, so I got a small. It is slightly large in the chest/stomach area, and the arms are too short, which isn't a huge deal since I roll up my sleeves anyways. The bottom is just ever so slightly too short, so I can't really tuck it in without it almost immediately coming untucked. The medium size was just way too large unfortunately. Maybe I need to beef up! Also, after just a few washes, the shirt began to pill in several places, and I have noticed a mis-stich near the left shoulder. Good shirt, not perfect, but nothing is.

One of the reasons I shop at L.L. Bean is the consistent fit. I am 6'3" and 275 lbs and I know their XXLT fits me a little loose in a "classic fit" kind of way. As a high school teacher, that comfortable looser fit is necessary for me to be able to move around on my feet all day teaching. This shirt is not advertised as being slim fitting, so I assumed it was L.L. Bean's traditional cut.
This shirt is a much thinner fit than I like. It buttoned up on me, and the sleeves fit okay, but the shirt was uncfomfortable and had too fashion-forward a fit for such a fuddy-duddy pattern and material. Only get this if you are a thin person and find L.L. Bean's traditional fit too loose. I am sending it back.
